Go to the site www.***boat.com and click on the image center. When you get there log in and hit the upload photos button. Follow that through till you see your picture after it is uploaded. Right click on the photo and select properties. You will see the web address of the uploaded photo in the window that comes up. Select the address and right click and click on copy. Now go to the page where you reply on the forums. Up in the vB Code section you will see the letters IMG on a button. Select it, a window will appear. Right click in the text box on this window. Click on paste, hit enter. You should then have it.

RR,
When you go and click on the IMG button and the window pops up, make sure to get rid of the "HTTP://" that is already in there. That is why the picture about this one did not work.

Everything i've heard and seen these boats are a handful over 90 mph.. They like to chine walk "BADLY" and an inexperienced driver could get WET!!! . Now i'm not saying this one does and i'd be curious to hear how it does handle. The boat is a looker

My dad and the origional owner rigged that boat and bought it new from Jim Cole in 1990. It was rigged with a Blown Alky deal, and then was converted to the turbo setup seen in the pics. I actually drove it a few times. I know the boats history from its creation until it was sold to a guy named "Rod". I don't think Jim made another one like it.

Here are some specs....
509ci
50 % gears
6000 rpm w.o.t.
6500 rpm out of the hole in second gear
3-blade prop
In the past handling was an issue, but with some improvments made to the bottom it is much better. It was a "real handfull" with the blown alky motor back in the day. Unfortuantely it has been down for about 5 years, should be back in the water soon. Looking to try some 2-blade props out. Engine size has been increased to 532ci on the fresh rebuild. I am not sure on the weight, but I do know boat and trailor with half tanks is 4750lbs.

RR, does yours have the big flat pad bottom? That J540 guy's has what look to be a nice pad that his rides on.
What ever the cast you boat looks hella nice. Best porn I've seen in the internet in sometime!
I'm building a carbed turbo engine now and if it's ok I'd like to ask you a few questions sometime about yours.

It does have a delta pad in the rear. When conditions are right..it's a very sweet ride:cool:
It's been a while, so I do not remember the specs on the current prop.. I definately want to try some different 2-blades..at around 5500 rpm and up ..the tail starts to lift and it wants to drive the nose down.....If the 2-blade dosen't help, I may need to shorten the prop shaft a couple of nickels...

Very nice boat, dont see to many of these things floating around, which makes them even nicer. I have a Cole 22' Superhawk hard deck I/O with an LS7 BBC in it . Had Pat's Fiberglass re-do the bottom of the boat, and what a difference . Boat handles better now and picked up alot of MPH. It runs a honest 85mph and turns 5200 RPM's with a 24 pitch 3-blade.
Its true about the handling at times can get pretty spooky real quick. A really easy boat to crash if your not paying close attention when running it trimmed out in marginal water.
Love the looks of these daycruisers, timeless hulls, will always look good no matter what year it is.

I am happy with my Cole....I used to have a Hallet Vector also..loved that one too...By the way..J540..it looks like your motor is set farther back than mine?? How does it handle with all that H.P. Just curious, I am trying to find a way to put a back seat in mine. I do miss the roominess of the Hallet Vector..

Damn that thing is sweet RR. A while back I asked if anyone had any pictures of a Cole V drive 20' or 22' and no one responded. Isn't that a 22' ? Do you know the strut angle or how far the strut barrel is from the transom. The angle and location could have a big effect on the handling. I also would like to see a picture of the transom.

RUSHIN ROULETTE
07-15-2004, 09:44 AM
It is a 20' 6" to be exact.. I am trying to get more pics of the transom area...soon.....thanks:D

I talked to Jim Cole about these boats a couple of times and he told me he had some out there running really big speeds. He didn't act like there was a handling problem either. That all red is just what I have been thinking about.

dont know about this B, at 110 mine still go's straight. and if you look t pics in the sandbar section there are some pic,s of mine at 102 in water that is very rough 2' chop you can see it in the pics. and it handled good, bounce around a bit never chined in, stayed on the tail and kicked ASS. just dont let of the gas, no whirl-a-way. kinda like hit'n the brakes:D
