It's a very cool project. But......Max speed 53 MPH via GPS?
Seems like a lot of work for that top speed. I wonder if there's
more to be had from tuning and tweeking?

that thing is pretty damn cool.
notice that the turbine makes 318 HP and that boat is one old heavy ass boat. Not really a speed demon to begin with.
although the motor only weight 130 lbs so I would expect more also.

Thanks Dave!
I was trying to figure away to make an flash player, but it's just taking too much of my time right now! It's either polking at the keyboard, or turning bolts on engines. I chose the latter of the two after a while!

Hi bocco,
Actually, for most of the guys that are running this type of a hull with a jet drive with around 300 HP, the speed is about right. Keep in mind, 300 HP is about what an stock 454 chevy, or nice built small block chevy puts out. Jet drive are not as efficent as props, if your used to prop drives. I would estimate, with a outdrive setup on this same boat / engine combo, speed would be in mid 60's. My next turbine boat project is going to be a prop and more horsepower. More fuel will have to be included also though! The jet can be tweeked to get more efficency, but it's a matter of additional cost. After all, this wasn't ment to be an speed boat!
Thanks for the feedback!
