Just being a smart Alec.
Read Tim Dorsey if you haven't already.
Same genre, same locale, much funnier and more adult.
Trust me.

Ok, I will try him.
I think Carl Hiaasen's books are pretty funny and off the wall!
Have you read any?

Read all of them.
I liked the one about the bass tournament best. Also the one about the lottery ticket (Lucky Number?). He is a good author, but Tim Dorsey is a lot funnnier. In one book he goes on a rant about "King Size" and "SUper Size" at fast food drive throughs, and concludes that "King" isn't a good enough term, and his character starts yellling "Hitler-Size my fries!" .
Not very hilarious by itslef, but in context, it's a friggin' hoot.
I have also read all of Nelson DeMille, all Elmore Leonard (gets to be formulaic), all Dean Brown, Michael Crichton, Robert Parker, John LeCarre, and a s---load more authors.
When I enjoy a book, I tend to read everything that author has written,
My wife managed a bookstore when I met her.
:)
Thanks

Debbolas - My favorites were Skin Tight, Strip Tease, and Stormy Weather
CA Stu - I thought Robert B. Parker's "Back Story" was one of the best recent Spenser novels. I've read all thirty of them.
I mourned when John D. McDonald went away and took Travis McGee, Meyer, and the "Busted Flush" with him.
And somebody who can write and respects the franchise needs to pick up James Bond where Raymond Benson left off...

I just got into reading so I could hook up with the hottie that managed the book store! :)
A real good read is "The Charm School" by Nelson DeMille.
Also, Andy McNabb is a British SAS member that was a POW in Iraq in the Gulf War, and his fiction and non-fiction books are a great read. Not some armchair quarterback, he knows his material.
I have a frickin' trainload of books I have read and need to get rid of...
Mirvin, I got it.
All us literate types got it, only the unwashed heathens didn't....;)

PS If more board members read, they could mitigate their desire to use profanity in posts through the expansion of their verbal arsenal.
There's a lot of words in the English language, you know?

Spenser is an awesome series of novels.
I have read all of John D McDonald also, and all the earlier Bond novels.
I strongly recommend Tim Dorsey.
