I think I am forced to install a ride and shoe on a 18' bahner. Has anyone experimented with this bottom????? It presently runs out of water at 85mph. I heve tried a couple different loaders with no luck. Tnks for the help:)

To machine the intake for a shoe/rideplate setup, it has to come out of the boat. There is no other right way to do it.
As for going 85mph, thats pretty damn good for what you got under the boat, but then I saw the motor and realized you could be throwing a lot of power to it.... what cut impeller do you have and is it Stainless? or ???

I had the exact same bottom on my boat last year. I would unload the pump at 70 if anything but glass conditions. After adding a shoe & rideplate, and changing the bottom, it handles the chop real well and stays loaded. I'd say you need to do it

ARS Marine inc
Makes a Bolt on shoe and ride plate , Just
for Boats that did not come with one.
It requires no machine work to the intake
just drill a couple of holes.
It's alot less of a hassle than taking the intake out of the boat.
I think the deal cost's about $200.00
E:mail Me and I will Get in touch with him to get an exact $Price.

What the???
Do you have a photo of this kit installed? What I want to know is what thickness is the shoe it comes with. Also, what if someone purchases this kit and there boat ends up going slower because the shoe was grabbing too much water?
Thanks

HTP sels a bolt on kit for a E pump.
Is the ARS kit for a C and G style pump?
And what does ARS stand for?

I keep telling myself I'm done with this boat, but I'll probably wind up installing one of the HTP shoe/plate kits. Film at 11.....

I have that very bottom. I am probably not running 85, but I am running a ride plate and shoe. I actually haven't measured the shoe, but it isn't much. The ride plate is set at 4 1/2 degrees up. I'm also running the little ski boat loader, much like the one you have. I suspect that my set up is close but not quite right. I could probably do with a new loader, and maybe a touch more shoe. The boat rides pretty dry, so I'm pretty sure I don't want to be up too much more. I have the small AT droop and plan to give that a try after my next trip. Just to try it. However, mine is just a little play/ski boat and I don't want to catch a roller and get wet. For info, in really bad conditions (118 degrees) I turn an stainless "A" impeller 5400 RPM.

if you are spinning a stainless A at 6000 what is the calculated speed?
please!...no shizzle talking!

If WHO is spinning a Stainless A at 6k, I dont recall anyone claiming those numbers on this thread.

10-4, am i bad. I dont know if there is such a thing as a calculated speed in a jet?, since there are so many factors involved. NOW you got me wondering!!!!!!!!

Yeah ... Right. What's your data system's output? Oh yeah, right, you don't run one.

i spin a legend B 6050 and my data and timeslips consistently show 104-105. if i -could- turn a legend A 6000, i would expect it to be running in the 107-109 ballpark.

I could spin a Berk stainless "A" to 6300 and just recently changed my whole setup to American Turbines 9.5 stainless and now turn 5200 and picked up 12 mph! 20 spectra 81 mph.

How can that be? I spin a berk "b" to 6000 and thats with 732 hp. Something is wrong with your numbers. You should spin the "b" 6000.00000000000000014 rpm for sure. Oh, I forgot, its a Furd. :D

Todd I am currently spinning one of Jacks legend stainless "A" impellers. With 6 psi of boost I was spinning it from 6100 to 6300 depending on weather conditions. Now I turned the motor up 3 lbs for a total of 9 psi & it will spin the pump in real bad weather 6300-6400 & I havent tried it in good weather yet!:) If you check on the jet chart it should be around 850 hp with 6 lbs of boost.
