Go get a 80s Mustang to bastardize. Unless this 60s Stang is a rustbucket and came with a 6, help preserve a little history, not kill it.

Local boat builder is completing one right now and it's Chip Foose type quality! Blown injected sbc etc. I will get some pics. in next few days. I'm all for preserving musclecars too, but this was a rusted shell '67 fastback. He built it to enjoy with 4 wheel disc. 4-link 9" rear, rack & pinion, coil overs, all button head chrome allen hardware etc. Eye popping yellow paint that looks killer !(and I usually hate yellow).

I just sold my '67 RS Camero about a year ago and still kickin' myself in the ass:mad: for doin' it...
But : I still have a nasty little 327 and all the running gear and driveline etc.....I just found a really trashed out Mustang w/very straight body , no windows, some rust , no grill or bumpers or chrome ,or wheels, dash or interior.... all gutted out already...
just thinking about doing a stripped down street sleeper type deal...thats all ....anything I did to it would definately be an improvement from what it is now;) that is why I want to know how much trouble it would be, I will not force myself to hack up a piece of history, even if it is a Ford:D

used to be a red 65 stang that cruised Whittier Blvd in early 70's that looked way too stock. had a dropped straight axle and a 427 chevy under a stock hood. 289 emblems and all. real clean install. I run a chevy in my Mopar!!!! if its yours, screw it just do it!!!!!

Glad Chevy, Ford and Mopar did not build boats.

So I guess this isn't a good time to mention my 56 Chevy with the 430 Buick & T400 in it.

ohhhh....now I see how you feel. When you put it that way....that is wrong. I guess there's people that feell the same way about Ford's as I do Chevy's. On the other hand, Mustangs really were a POS:D

I have some pics. coming tonight. Die hard Ford guys don't look;)
Guess it was leaf springs in the rear but looks good just the same. He made motor mounts and did not cut strut towers or anything, so could be sbf just as easily. Check back this evening...

As promised here are some pics and a little info. About 70% complete.
377 motor was originally dry sump, built to run 9000rpm, detuned for car.
Will have modified Holley commander 950 F.I. mapped by ASM. One off front air dam designed and built by Steve, still has mold. Side valances are lenghtened M3 pieces. Shelby decklid. Original gauge bezels were retained and Auto meter gauges modified to fit in cluster and center console. Stock stick-on alum. trim replaced with real alum. Interior will be light gray suede with brushed alum. accents and air conditioning. EVERY single bolt is chrome button head and looks killer. Paint is flawless in and out.

I can appreciate the time, effort and skill to buld a car like that. I take a little different tact......

Looks NICE roostwear! There are great musclecars from all the manufacturers and I like restored, as well as restified ones.
The yellow one is just something he wants to drive and enjoy and would have been crushed if not resurrected in some form.
Pictures do not show how nice this car looks.

I appreciate the craftsmanship and dedication it takes to build a car. Doesn't matter what make it is, as long as it's over the top. He should be proud (it still hurts seeing a Chevy engine in there, though)

Roost, like your choice of colors and tire combos, just don't aggree with your brand loyalty. :D
My green monster... just needs paint.

I always liked the Cutlass body lines. Are those Centerlines? You could go skinnier on the fronts for that straight axle look :D
Get some paint on that beast!

Sleek-Jet

Yeah they are Centerline Billett (LMAO) Stars. I was trying to strike a balance between the Pro-Touring look and a Pro-Street. The tires are 235/60 R15's up front and 295/50 R15's (a full 12" section width about 11" tread width, and there is till room for bigger tires :D ) in back. Eibach spring all the way around, dropped the car about 1.5" or so, handles better now also. I completely rebuilt the front end while I was at it.
The shitty paint makes it a sleeper. :D

http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/1153Leftfront_small.jpg Is that a '70? I'm a little rusty on my olds identification:frown:

It's a '72, but not anything special. I found it being sold by the son of the little old lady that owned it since it was new (no shit, a bonafide little old lady drove it to church car).
It's a Cutlass "S" that only had a two barrel 350 in it, but now it has substantially more displacemant. :D. Did all the work myself.
Now that the mechanicals are done, it's time to do the cosmetic.

Here's a 69 GT. that I just finished up for a friend that started out pretty much as a total wreck ready for the crusher. He also has a 65 & a 66 . the 65 is here now awaiting me to get motorvated and is in pretty rough shape itself .
