The above picture says it all! It was BILLET TIME in shop that day! As I was going through my files I noticed a strange thing. I have more pictures of installations and boat parts than I do of all the beautifully painted flatbottoms and hydros that I see at the outings and races. Is this a sickness? Probably not, but, I'm guess'in a bunch of you dig the same thing,
trick installs and cool boat parts. Now I know those guys who paint boats are looked upon with a fair amount of respect, and they deserve it! Think of the hours that go into drinking up, I mean thinking up, all the wild paint schemes we see these days. But, each one of those beauties is full of handcrafted aluminum as well. So let's see what's out there! I have a bunch of digital shots and probably 200 that could be scanned. Not all of them are 100% full of stuff some of you might think is trick, but, hey, they got the job done and the boat is at an event! So, throw up some shots of the inside of your boat or someone else's boat. This could be some fun!

Oh, and here's the part that made the bale of aluminum. It was for a 1963 Top Fuel Dragster running a 392 Hemi. I know it not a boat, but I thought the picture was cool. Remember, a billet part means you've taken a big piece of aluminum and made it into a small one!!!!http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/1517billet2-med.jpg http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/1517billet3-med.jpg

Ok Dave,
I made this for SS Mike. Crankshaft button (flywheel end) so he could roll the engine over with a ratchet.

Most of these were taken at the Spring Parker Race. Most of my digital is Circle Boat stuff, I'll get scanning on the Drag Boat stuff soon!

Hey Dave,
What about making one of those adapters for the other side. Same concept but with holes that pattern off of the vibration dampener. I hate it when my ratchet and socket fall off the bolt and land in the bottom of the boat adjusting valves...by the way, how many springs are holding down the plate ?

Best picture I have. when I bought the boat there was no strut brace. I taped 8 1/4"-20 holes into the top of the strut block and added the brace. It looks like you do kinda the same.

Had a great day today working on a couple flatbottoms. The one on the left is my brother Rolf's 1976 Litchfield, which we restored a little over a year ago. He was over to drop the gear down to a 12. He's run the thing 10.33 @ 105, with the gear change she should run in the teens. The other boat is a boat we're finishing up for a customer. It's a 70 Hallett that his family has had since 1973. It was a complete redo except for the original metal flake green. Here's a few shots of each.

Here's a couple shots of a double tee I built for an 81 Hondo we're doing. Water in the top/dumps out the frontside of the tee. Fuel comes in the rear on the side and dumps out the bottom to the fuelpump. Tidy's it up quite nicely.

Here's a few shots of a billet base for a skypole I'm building for a 1970 Campbell. Started out as a 3x3 square and was turned down to a 2 1/4 round to fit inside the pole. Base stays square to fit in reciever mounted ahead of the v-drive.

Of course most if it ended up on the floor in the above pic.
