Up here in western Canada, lots of people hunt. I'd speculate more than half of us have hunted and probably 5 or 10% hunt regularly. Certainly, more of us hunt than fish.
It's interesting to hear how upset hunters get when someone kills an animal, harvests the rack or just a small portion of it, and then leaves the rest. The general belief here is that if you're going to take an animal's life, you should consume as much of the animal as you can. It seems pretty basic.
As for me, I don't hunt and I don't fish. I'm not against either. To be honest, I don't have much of an opinion on it.
I think hunting is infinitely more humane than keeping animals in feed lots and giving them growth hormone to fatten them up in the shortest period of time.
