I see this post often, but can't find one now that I need it. I just talked to AAA for insurance on my new Aftershock 21 Skier. They want $1050/yr for the policy. That sounds a little high to me. Anyone have any suggestions on who to call for a more reasonable policy?

Try progressive 850 yr for 2004 25 tremor 496ho full replacement cost. Be carefull looking, heard some rumors that some companies have exclusions for havasu/river. make sure you ask.

yea, AAA said no policy if the primary use was Havasu / Parker. We go to Yuma / Martinez area, so it was ok. That's was the story with the last boat too. I guess too much chance they'll have to actually hold up their end of the policy.

That seems a little high for Progressive unless you have some accidents or tickets. I am only paying about $750 a year for max liability limits and total replacement costs on a $90,000 boat. I got a much higher quote when I did it online because I mistakingly checked the "multi-owner" box thinking it applied for me and the wife. Call them and go over your quote to make sure everything is correct.
BTW, State Farm (believe it or not) was priced about the same as progressive.

I say Progressive as well, we boat the Lower river as well and I am paying less then $600.00 a year on my Carrera 202XR, they don't have any limits on where you can boat either...

Allstate Insurance, Colleen Connoly (619-460-0579), she is by far the cheapest we found for our 2003 Ultra Deckboat.

BE CAREFUL- I am an insurance broker and Progressive is one of my companies. They WILL NOT write a cat hull!!! I am looking at the new guide and it says "performance catamaran/tunnel hull unacceptable".
This would include the Magic Deck. My buddy (STGP) has a magic deck and I couldn't put it with Progressive.
If you (if you did it online) or your agent misstates the hull type to get it accepted, they could turn down a claim due to material misrepresentation so BE CAREFUL!!!!

Just curious, why can't you have insurance on your boat, if you use Lake Havasu?

I heard you are WOT in reverse off the trailer and the reason you couldn't enjoy the view up to Hoover cuz your eyes wouldn't stop watering from the wind from doing mach 5 the whole time:D

I have a 2001 ultra 22 stealth with a 350 mag B-1.......AAA is $385.00 per year but it cannot be primarily used in Havasu / Parker / Colorado river. I use mine there frequently but had to have the underwriter ok it before hand. Only had to get approval one time when the policy was written, all good ever since.
I am very, very happy with triple AAA. I used to work for a automobile repair business and they always took care of their customers needs without any type of hassle. One time, they replaced an engine on a van that the son forgot to replace the oil filter after the oil change. Well, of course while toolin' down the road the engine through a rod. Well, these people had the balls to call AAA and tell them that someone had sabotaged their van and drained out all of the oil in the middle of the night.
An inspector came out, took a couple of pictures, that was it. I got a check the next day for $6500.00!!!!!!
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

ditto on Progressive. Just as a lot of smart people on this thread I have an Ultra. 2004 24 Stealth with a 496 mag. Full Replacement Value of like 65 or 70k, dissapearing deductible and only 726 for the year. I also have the primary usage zip as Lake Havasu since we are having a place built there. Here's the kicker that makes me think they are cheaper than any other. My wife and I are only 24. Our rate should be ridiculous. Go online though. If you go through a broker it cost and extra couple of hundred so they can pay the broker.
