Hmmm...your post sounded like more than a jab. If that's all it was, I apologize for being so "touchy."

It's got more power - "only 300HP" (low for a V-8) and sucks gas. Nothing else is different than the 6-cylinder and it's a bunch more coin. Plus it's the wife's car and she doesn't care about the power...

Bought one back in November. No one in So Cal could beat Longo Lexus in El Monte.

Step up and get a Mercedes. ;) My wife had a GS300 before the S class, she loved it.
I had a GS400 and I really liked it. The power was really nice to have when needed. The GS and the S class are completely different cars though. The S class is more luxurious and the GS is a lot sportier. So just a matter of opinion and preference. Not to mention the GS is probably $25k-$30k cheaper if that matters.

Agreed. Personally, I didn't care for the GS, but she loved it, except that it was a little rocket. I love driving the S class. I've driven it to work two times this week because she's been using my rig. I could drive that car everyday if I had to. :D
Ya the GS is a sporty little car to run around in. But it definitely doesn't have the pure luxury that an S class has and the S class ride is sooooo nice. I think my next car is gonna be a 745 BMW though. I think the 745 has the sporty look more like the GS and the luxury ride like the S class. IMO the best of both worlds.

You guys are funny comparing a Lexus GS to an S-class Mercedes.
Have you seen the brand new S-Class? It's an awesome car inside and out - simply amazing and it's "only" $100,000!

I hate to say this because I'm a fan of MB....but the new S class looks like a Volkswagon Passat to me.

I agree, Longo seems to always be the place to go. I work at Toyota/Lexus/Scion headquarters, and even some of our associates have purchased there.

Desert Lexus, Palm Desert. Great people, awesome place. Bought a 2003 Lexus GS 300 there and just bought the new loaded 2006 Lexus GS300. Got the best deal at this location and will always go back.
Awesome car too, no reason to get the 430. This car flat out flies ! Wife drives it but I steal it at times myself. I bought myself the 2006 Denali.
Oink.

I don't have a hookup anywhere, other than in Mesa, AZ, and it's not really a "hookup" other than a good price (I thought).
I do have to commend you for a GS300 though. They are nice whips. They come with all the goodies at a far cheaper price than the competition. Their reliability far surpasses the competition. They are a great all round car.
There's no sense in comparing the S550 to the GS300 at all. Completely different platforms and owner stereotypes. Bang for the buck, GS is the way to go without a doubt.
Good choice...! :rollside:
