We have tried this before but here we go again .... Anyone recognize the bottom of this hull and perhaps what it is a splash of, I am trying to get some more details on the shape so I can get a better estimate of how much speed it will handle and how it will react. I know there were only a few original designs of bottoms from the late 60's through the 70's. I know it was made in Lake of the Ozarks in 1977 and was made by Beachcomber the model is Rebel. Any help would be great....

The corners are too flat for a ROGERS .
Gotta be older I'd say sanger also.
The top looks like a TAYLOR SJ in one pic.

The reason I ask all this is that I don't see too many bottoms with the outside chine angle come back up to make alsmost a kind off recessed running surface at the outer edges...not sure what this design is supposed to do? any ideas why it is that way from a fluid dynamics standpoint? I have had people tell me it looks (the bottom ) kind of Sangerish.
Thanks for the replies so far .... maybe Old Rigger will chime in here soon.....
better pic of transom

I don't think so the trailer is very low in the back and I think a prop would drag .... The cut out you see is for the fins on the bottom of the intake to clear the back of the trailer , this boat sits very low on the trailer, and I have a cover for the opening that runs from the front of the cut out to the back thus sheilding the intake from road debries... it is off in the picture so the end result in your question .... I don't know for sure but would lean towards no.

I think it has too many strakes to be a sanger. Im betting the taylor is the closest, or it could have been their own design...?

Squirtcha?

definitly not a rogers,... the lifting strakes on a rogers are flat where the ones on your boat are kind of at a drop angle.
maybe a sanger.....but i would not know squat about those:p

This is from a Boats Unlimited brochure. They manufactured boats in Dallas in the late 70's. I had a different model and was a great boat. Who was it in Lake of the Ozarks that made your boat?

Looks almost identical to a Sanger sprint that I was looking very closely at last weekend. Hard to say without them being side by side, but my guess is it's a sanger splash. Their attempt at a sort of gull wing.

Nothing like a Sanger.
Vintage Eliminator has hit something though that Rebel looks to be a dead ringer.

Bryan, I've enjoyed reading your post on the mods you've done to your boat. It looks great! If it's manufactured by the same company that was in Dallas I'm familiar with, I'm sure it's been a great boat.
For a couple of months in 1976, I worked for a company that sold jet boats called Jetstar . About a year and a half later, during a cold January weekend, I saw some guys on the lake with their jets. It turns out they originally manufactured the boats for Jetstar. During the next severl months I hung around and eventually bought a 19' Rendegade from them. Great boat!
The image I posted earlier was from the brochure of theirs. At the time the brouchure was printed (maybe 1979) they had 4 models which were the Rebel, Renegade, Rouser and Rouge. All but the Rouser were jets. The Rouge is an early Eliminater, etc, etc. copy. Don't know what the others were copied from.
You may be able to do a title search that would trace ownership back to the manufacture of the boat. At least we can do that in Texas through the Parks & Wildlife Department.
You can search this website using your HIN to find out about the manufacture:

Hope this helps.

Steelcomp,
That hull is one step further than the Sanger double concave with an outer sponson. I bet that boat could really move with the right setup.
