OK, I've resisted this for awhile now, but my kids are driving me crazy. I either need to buy a wakeboard boat or figure out a way to put a pylon on the Campbell! (OUCH!!!) Anyway, I was thinking of a single pole mounted in the cabin floor with support arms going to the back of the boat that can be mounted on the side of the rear deck. It also has to be easily removed and stored without a problem.
Any suggestions???? Thanks

Well, SL...
Overtons has a few... one looks like it might work for your application.
Ski Limited might,
Barts might too I'll look.

I picked up a used Skylon with wakeboard rack for $250.00. It's
in perfect condition. Look for a used one. I think they run about
6 bills new.
You should be able to find one pretty easy because everyone has
those big ugly racks now. So there selling there Skylons.
And Skylon is the way to go. It's one of the best. They have
nylon sleeves that slide over you ski pole so it fits like a glove.
Of course you half to have a ski pole.

They are about $400 in Barts... but $250 is quite an improvement over that...
Try Ebay...ebay (http://search.ebay.com/ski-pylon_W0QQsokeywordredirectZ1QQfromZR8)

One other way is the tripod style. They can be completely
removed when not is use.

Well something tells me that you dont want to spend $45,000+ on a cookie cutter boat.
Do reaserach it and see about putting a "removeable" plyon on you campbell.
Look on the bright side at least you girls aren't asking for you to put a tower on the boat. Or are they?
by the way, did they go to wakeboard camp yet?

Try one of these. (http://airboom.com/airbooms.html) I had one in my last boat and it worked really well. Put it up when you want to board, take it down when you want to cruise. :D

YES they are!!! But I told them - no tower, maybe a pole. They were good with that...

Yes, they went to the Mission Bay Aquatics camp at the end of June. It was an awesome experience for them. They are so much in control of their boards now - before, it was a challenge to just stay up! By the end of the week the wake was being jumped and air was common! They also got up ono the wake skate and they like that as well. Also, after another week at Powell, they are getting ready to attempt some surface 180's...
Yesterday, we went to Snug Harbor and rented, a, ahem, Bayliner, and they were able to board there as well.

pretty funny!:D But, I love my kids too much to sell them...maybe the wife, but not the kids!;)
One more question - do any of the pylons work WITHOUT the front bow strap? Both Skylon and Airboom require them....???

THat's what I was gonna say...... THe bow strap dealio is a bummer. Another thing is that those things are pretty tough to get around with, I mean they got the two support poles sticking back almost rendering the back seat useless.
I'd say go with the roll bar. These are pretty cool and not totally redicuously priced:D

You must have the bow strap. You have to preload the Skylon.
It has a ratchet on the bow stap, so you ratchet it down to hold
it in place. My boat is a close bow as you can see. So it doesn't
effect the function of my boat.
On an open bow it gets in the way.
If your ski pole is at the stern it might be problem. You would
have to purchase a longer nylon stap for bow. I don't think
they make it long enough to reach that far.

I don't wakeboard very much so the Skylon is perfect. When I'm
not using it I take it apart and stuff it under the bow.
No roll cage on my boat!
Yet. When my boy gets older he'll want one.

We had a bigairpylon on our old boat for 5 years and never had a problem with it. I would highly recommend it. We were able to use the rear cleats for the straps in the back so the only holes that we had to drill were the six for the baseplate. We would still be using it but our family bought one of those "$45,000 cookie cutter" boats with a tower.

I'm not certain my Campbell will look too good with a wakeboard tower, see below....

However, the skylon is an idea I need to explore. I just wish I didn't need the ugly bow strap!:yuk:

I think that the only thing that doesn' t look good it that TOW ROPE!!!! What's going on there SL???
I think the towers are easily removed for when necessary;) THey also fold down for storage.....
I would put one on my boat cuz I really like to wakeboard, but I got other issues to button down first. I know people think it's gay and all, but it beats buying a wakeboard boat!!!!

Did your Campbell come with the table mount pedestal in the floor? If so, thats a start, then all you need is two forward mounted, snap on anchor poles to take the load.
Next choice is a transom mounted poll, or firewall mounted pole, but those two options will require a hatch and upholstery modification. Under hatch installations still require a lot of support.
Maybe its time to look at the $45,000 option...

There are a couple different ways to hook up a skylon or pylon - and there are a couple that don't require bow straps.
I am in the process of putting in a pylon on my Campbell. I am puting a ski pylon that will stick out in front of the engine cover and then will slide a skylon over that post and will have a front strap, very much like a tourny boat set up. The ski pylon will only stick out a few inches when the tall pylon is not on it.

Just tie the rope around your neck, and drive standing up!! :D :) :D Didn't work for me, I'm not tall enough. :frown:

Mine is a two piece. You slide the top half over the bottom then put a pin in it, then crank tention on the bow strap.
It makes it nice and solid. No rattling or movement.
Since it's two piece it makes it very storable also.
