What do you guys think about the PSD Excursions? I have a 8.1 Suburban, but I want something bigger with a diesel. I have heard the 6.0's have had some problems anybody had any? Thanks in advance for the help.

Im on my second Excursion. The first was a 2000 Limited 4x4 7.3 powerstroke I just sold with 83000 and never had a tranny issue just little shiat now and then but nothing major . We now have an 04 limited 4x4 6.0 liter, we only have 8000 miles but no problems to speak of. We just towed for our first time and all I can say is HOLLY SHIAT this thing has more power than I know what to do with and the tranny is amazing.
If your looking for a Towing family truckster this is your ride!

2003 6.0 PSD, had some minor stuff in the begining but is the best truck I have owned. Put some exhaust, a Predator Tuner on it and do burnouts all day long.
Towing, fagetaboutit !! It's the shitt ...
Room, fagetaboutit !! Has all the room you'll need.

Though I would be really carefull buying a 2003 because some folks have had some major problems with their '03's.
If you can go with an '04 or check the engine build date and try to get one that was built in late 2003. (Info is on the valve covers)

We had our 03 Ex with the 6.0 lemon lawed and now we have a Chevy 2500 HD with the D-Max.
I could not be happier. My buddy had an 03 Ex just like our's and he went the same route. Both vehicles were terrible with problems that the dealer could not fix.
I heard they have worked out the problem with the 6.0, but I honestly like the way the D-Max allison combo works for towing. The 6.0 in the Ex was faster but had a lot of turbo lag off the bottom.
Good luck.

I am on my second excursion diesel and love it. the first was two wheel and xlt it was great for towing but I got stuck on a launch at the delta so I had to sell it and get the 4x4 7.3 limited and we have the hypertech program in it and love the performance. no big issues on either suv and not thinking about any more tow rigs
