This guy is indeed good.... Well placed points, good steady delivery and not a thing out of place. It could almost make political sense .... Forget who he is , what his story is , etc..
The speach and its contents, components were well delivered and the message was moderate and palatable to a lot of Americans. The speech was true to what the DNC is or
rather used to be... More moderate closer to the center...
** THIS IS PROOF POSITIVE THAT THE DNC HAS BEEN HIGH JACKED BY A BUNCH OF SOCIALISTS....AND EXACTLY WHY BUSH WILL BE RE-ELECTED. HAD THE DNC SELECTED A MODERATE. THE RACE WOULD HAVE BEEN TIGHT.....

I don't think either of you guys are right... I think we'll be counting dangling chads or misplaced electrons, cuz right now it's split right down the middle. Put Ralph Nader back in the mix and the tilt is slight (but within the margin of error of any poll) toward Bush.
Should be an interesting race...

The whole thing is a puppet show, designed to portray Senator Heinz-Kerry as a genuine article.
He is carefully constructing a facade, a false image, to appeal to a broader range of people.
You wanna get creeped out? Think about Kerry winning the election, and filling cabinet posts with all the losers in the Democrat party. How about Gephardt as Secretary of State? Al Gore as Director of the EPA?
OK, I gotta stop. It's too hideous to even imagine.

I think JK has a greater chance of beating Bush than Al Bore did. So, I think I'm ok. Bush's approval rating is very low and continues to drop. Sure, he'll get a boost after the convention but Iraq is gonna doom him. My .02. If I lose, it's a case of bullets and I have to wear a shirt that says I Love Bush!;)

My only point was the re-registering. But since your being so insistant...... I want a 6 pack of coors lights ( tall ), you to re-register as GOP'er, the I LOVE GW BUSH T-shirt, All the Pictures & those bullets in 10mm !

I'm too far away to bet. You boys can have all the fun.
Approval rating has very little to do with his reelection chances.
I disagree. Al Bore had a much better chance at winning than Kerry. Bore had incumbency on his side.
Plus Kerry can't win on the "I hate Bush ticket." They need something substantive.
Oh well call it as you see it... Just trying to help ya!

Obama sounds good, looks good but his speech, like all the others at conventions, said nothing of substance.
He quoted the Declaration of Independence (picture American flags waving in the breeze, America the Beautiful playing in the background, etc.), and said nothing.
Like most liberal blacks (er, African Americans), he mentioned slaves - this time he envisioned them sitting around a fire dreaming about a better place. Whatever.
They can paint the blank canvas anyway they want, they still want to raise taxes, give "free healthcare to everybody" (have us pay for healthcare for those who won't work), and there's nothing else of substance. Kerry doesn't differentiate himself (nor do his liberal Dem speakers do it for him - they can't) from Bush other than to say negatives about the President.
John Kerry, the most extreme liberal in the senate and his running mate, the most obscene trial lawyer in recent memory. Now there's a ticket that only Bush-haters can love.
My money's on Bush and Cheney - after the Republican convention when substance is presented and people start seeing through the ghost that is John Kerry, the tide (polls) will start to turn.
Michael socialist Moore has had his fun, it will soon be time for the truth - this war on terrorism isn't over and we're all at risk and the American people don't feel comfortable having anti-war trial lawyers "protecting us."
Besides the alternative to another four years of Bush is too horrifying to contemplate

I haven't seen F 9/11 but intend to so so at some point. I do have some very conservative friends (top 1% etc) who have seen it and to tell you the truth they were questioning W as well....I don't think they will flip sides of the aisle but the questioned it none the less. Interesting.....

My impression so far of the DNC is that it looks like the same old thing from the Democratic Party. The same old white dudes who came into power during the civil rights movement of the 60's, the same old rhetoric. Kennedy, Carter, Clinton, Gore, bah bah bah. This supposedly anti-Bush bashing convention appears very "fake" to me, and I too, see little substance.
Thank god they have Michael Moore to sit in the Presidental box talking about his "it's all about me theme." They rolled out the red carpet for "me". Now I can buy a new yatch for "me". This convention is the best thing to happen for Bush's relection chances that I have seen yet, IMO. :)

Are you certain about your position on this? You might want to reconsider your answer...
From Snopes.com, a respected website that either validates or disputes urban legends and rumors:
Claim: Secret flights whisked bin Laden family members out of the U.S. over the objection of the FBI two days after the September 11 attacks, while a general ban on air travel was still in effect, and before the FBI had any opportunity to question them.
Status: Multiple — see below
In the two days immediately following the September 11 terrorist attacks on America, the U.S. government allowed bin Laden family members to fly within the country during a general ban on air travel: True.
During that same period the U.S. government allowed bin Laden family members to fly out of the U.S.: Undetermined.
The flights carrying bin Laden family members out of the U.S took place over the objections of the FBI: False.
The FBI was denied any opportunity to question departing bin Laden family members: False.
Origins: I owe Michael Moore an apology. In a January 2002 interview with Al D'Amato and Alan Colmes of the FOX Network, Michael Moore said:
Why did this country allow the bin Laden family, two days after — two days after September 11 — to fly around America and pick up all the bin Laden relatives, about 24 of them, and take them to Europe? Not a single one of them was interrogated by the FBI.
That set me off on a tirade, and it shouldn't have. Part of Mr. Moore's statement has since been proved to be correct — during the ban on air travel, some Saudis (including members of the bin Laden family) were transported by air to assembly points in the U.S. in preparation for their leaving the country. In an earlier version of this article, I ranted and raved about his avowing bin Laden flights had taken place while no one was allowed to fly. Yet some did, at least within the U.S.
I shouldn't have yelled at him. He was right about that.

I'd take this bet, but it wouldn't be fair because I am still a regesterd democrat. I just stopped voting for them when the party went so far to the left. Like I have said many times here before, I'm going to stay registerd as a Dem until 2008, so I can vote twice aginst H. Clinton.
Like I said in the other thred, Obama made a fantastic speech that was more republician than Bush. He also made the, Grey Davis like, Kerry sound like he is Teddy Roosevelt.
I would find hope in the content of his speech (the parts that were not the Kerry hype) if I only didn't know about the totally different and more leftist stuff he has said in his congressional run.

Did these people commit a crime? NO
Did these people have an information about a crime? PROBABLY NOT.
What is our intent to hold them then? NONE
The old man binladen had 22 wives and who knows how many kids.
The family disavowed Osama when he lost his Saudi citizenship in the early 90's.
This is like blaming a person for their 13th cousin robbing a bank. Guilt by association.

Back to Obama- The moderate. The speech he made was great (too bad for the Dems it was on the least watched night). However, based on the further left nature of his congressional run, I'm afraid much of it is just a very well articulated act.
When is this convention going to start presenting thier platform? I know they have spent much of their time these last few years hiding and obfiscating it. But is this going to be the year they pretend not to even have one or what? So far the only specific policy change I have heard suggested was when H. Clinton said Kerry would lift the ban on stem cell reasearch (partial ban that is) and that is a political no brainer, esp since the polls show about 70% in favor of that move.
Oh yea, and how could I forget when his stuck in the 60's wife said Kerry would "reverse global warming". He he he, now that's funny. Maybe she can have him move the earth closer to mars so we won't have to look from so far to study it, as well.;)
