Well thanks for the compliments. It was a diffacult choice to make being the boat is a one aof a kind and is basically irreplacable.I have made the chioce to retire from the racing scene for now. I'm keeping the engine and all equipment for now.. I hav'nt been bit by the "K" boat bug but the i/o cat bug did get me. Just ready for a change of pace....I still plan on hangin with the "group" and enjoy ever bit of it, but am tired of sitting on shore...I'll just have a bigger boat to chill with!!!!!!!!

Well I can understand T-Bag, When you get old like us you can have a floater and a runner. Although there'll be times I'm sure that you'll be sorry you had to let one go that worked so well:frown:

The cool thing about this boat is that it is set up and runs consistently. Sorry to see you're getting rid of it Mike. You know Mike Miller (AKA Bino) is looking for a flatty. Keep it in the family, so to speak.:D ;)

T Bag, I did the same thing. Sold the flat less engine. Engine is still sitting in the garage 5 years later. Sure wish I had the boat again.
I do understand but I also know your gonna really miss driving a flat.
But bro, you could still have a nice nasty v drive cruiser.
Think about it. You like horsepower right? Well those outdrives sure don't! lol I don't know how those cat guys can swing going thru all the drive parts like they do.

The same way they swing 300,000 cats. The same way they swing (2) 45,000 dollar motors. The same way they swing 7,000 a year for insurance. Its called Hom equity. Not saying its right. Wait till you see all these people lose their asses, then nab up a cheap one ;)

That is my feeling all along, as soon as house prices drop, I am renting this dump and moving back to Billy B's area.

That boat has a lot of history and a lot of people put a bunch of effort into making it fast, but Carter Reed id not one of them. I bought the hull in 1990 with bottom "blueprinted" plates and v-drive mounted. The floor looked so bad that I had to have it recleared before I would even run it. When the prop shaft would not line up with the v-drive, I had to relmount the v-drive. After the first race I realized the bottom was screwed up and had to redo that. I was so mad that the whole time I had it I told everyone it was a Howard Flatbottom!
With that off my chest I can say, once it was finished, it was the best boat I ever owned!
