Just out of curiosity how is the job market out there in California? is it as screwed up like it is here in the Dallas area?

It must be OK. I've got one. ;)

Its good but the cost of living is steep. Expect to pay at least $500k for a decent house in a decent area. Upscale tract homes are going near a million in a lot of nice areas. Houses under $400k will get you a nightmare commute if you have to work in the OC or LA civic centers.

Perhaps if he spent some time here reading instead of just running off at the mouth and spewing something he read once upon a time, he might learn something other than how to make a carb pretty.

If I spent all my time here reading then I wouldn't be the professional I am nor would I be able to complete the engineering degree I've worked so hard acheive. Some advice to you Jordy, live life by experiences & don't believe everything you read.
And as for your cracks against our business, get your facts straight and your stories inline with the truth. If you have an issue with our business practice then bring it up with us directly, which I don't know how you could because you were never a client. But just incase you were we would definitely look into any complaints you have.
With regards to your buddy's issue, he was appropriately taken care of considering it wasn't anything we did. Remember that you can't run pump gas on a high compression motor. But I encourage you to read more in the gearheads section because it may help you out in understanding that. But be carefull because you may loose a good friend when you begin to understand it was his fault. Oh yeah...one other thing....TPC Racing, LLC may be doing something right considering we're still in business today and running strong. Or better yet visit our website for weekly updates.
Thanks for the PR Jordy, it helps us stay on step.

The job market in California is quite good.
However, you have to be a VERY marketable candidate. In California you will get plenty of oppurtunities to prove yourself as a worthwhile candidate but odds are you will be applying for a 1 position that 50-100 other people will also be applying for. If you can market yourself better then they can then this place has some bitchen jobs with some bitchen pay.
Now comparing against Dallas. Thats rough. In Dallas you can buy a nice pad for $200K. In California that same pad will cost you $750K.
Now it comes to the debate of quality of life. You can have a hell of a quality of life here. You have the ocean you have a lot of really fdun things surrounding you but you will also have to work twice as hard to get those things here compared to Dallas.
How much are you willing to sacrifice?
I sacrificed it all. Got rid of my nice ride, my nice pad, my nice everything. Im sleeping on the couch in my fathers living room and running in the rat race right now to get a good job. For me it will be all worthwhile in the end. I'm back to my family, back to my friends, and back to the ocean. This place is home for me. For someone who doesn't have those things going for them.... Well, if someone isnt knocking on your door offering you a job that pays 150K a year minimum then dont even bother.
California is a weird place. A REALLY weird place.
So just keep that in mind :)

I left there 2 years ago. The Jobs pay 3 to 4 times as much as here in Havasu, but the housing is off the hook. Traffic is a nightmare, I can't wait to leave everytime we go back to visit.
It's hard to break into Calif, or go back once you leave. Unless you have someone offering you a job(A GOOD Job) to go there, I wouldn't risk it.

Well I actually lived in California for 12 years (Camp Pendleton, Tustin) but left 5 years ago. The economy was in much better shape back then, just not sure about how well it recovered. The 12 years I lived there I was in the Marine Corps. living kind of a sheltered life. Free food, place to live (On base), pay etc. When I got out I found that the job market was even tough to break into back then, I can imagine it being worse there now. One thing I did learn while I lived there is its all about networking, my ex girlfirend tought me that. She always got a job and I always lived off her :D Sure miss the ocean though....How about Florida anyone out that way on this board?
Oh yea my undergrad is in Telecommunications I have a lot of fiber optic experience, but find it rather useless, as not a lot of companies are hiring for it these days. So I am back in school working on my MBA with maybe concentration in Finance.

I work for a large Cable Construction company, we have a lot of fiber work right now. But you have to go where the work is, that is the problem. I spend my week days 325 miles from home until this project is done.

I have a 5 minute commute and I work downtown. Wonder what my house would be worth in LA or OC :D

I don't live there but I do spend lots of time there. Real estate in vacation areas is nuts (people literally biding on condos and houses. Asking price is only the stating point). You can probably buy twice the house in FL than CA as long as you stay away from vacation hotspots (the beach). The job market is good especially if you are in construction. It' Hot, Real Hot!! But it's wet heat

From the last "money" section on the local paper and "money" magazine that I get:
OC is the highest place to live regarding housing prices in the country.
LA is second.
Riverside is about 1/2 as high as OC and LA area.
The median house price in south OC is about 600K and is slightly lower in North OC. The is the median.
Like Warlock said, you will need a 'good' job that pays you $$$$ here. It is really sad that a married couple with two decent incomes cannot afford a house here anymore.

Yep, nothing you did. Because if you did what you were supposed to do he wouldn't have had the old sunken floats in the new pretty carbs for starters. ;)
Oh, and it's funny that you just think it's one person. I get PM's from quite a few different individuals and vendors who have dealt with you, and it's funny because they all kind of have the same story.

Apparently there is a sucker born every minute. Guess not everyone has the good luck to have a bullshit detector that goes into overdrive everytime you post.
As far as the website, I do check it out everynow and then, mostly to checkout the testimonials. The balls it takes to have Justin's picture still up there as a satisfied customer just cracks me up every time.
Oh and from what I recall, you never obtained permission from the photographer to use that shot. Imagine that. :eek!:

You are wrong on this. The economy in SoCal didn't take a hit in the past 5 years. Besides the 1993-1997 recession, its been going strong for the past several years. I would say as good if not better than it was in 1999. If it were not smokin' people would not be able to afford the houses and boats they are buying up like mad. Housing prices have doubled and trippled in many SoCal areas in the past 5 years. Unemployment rates are about the same as they were in 1999, around 6%.
I would say your challenge will be finding a decent place to live. Getting a job and all the other stuff would be relatively easy. I would say you would need to make at least $75,000 to live comfortably on your own unless you want to rent a basic apartment, then you could probably get by on less.

There again, I did not pay rent, food, etc. So I did not get the full picture. I realize California and New York have a more diverse economy. Where Texas once relied on Oil now tries its best to rely on technology. When the bust hit us 3 years ago in the Telecom field, it really knocked the crap out the economy of the Dallas area. At this point I would not move, hell I can't anyways I am trying to finish up my MBA, just curious at this point.

And that would have what to do with you reselling me my old parts and charging me for new? That's just not good business Ty. Some people might call it fraud. It also illustrates your lack of quality control. Your company is built on the backs of the customers that your mistakes were made. You cost your customer’s money, hard feelings and then you blatantly lie on the internet about it. But you don't give a shit, do you? I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND.
You, are what real mechanics call "The trick of the week". Unfortunately, a lot of people subscribe to that mentality. Lots of ads in hot rod magazine for bolt on shit that will never make power on a weak suck motor. Funny, I have met some real intelligent and knowledgeable folks on this board, and NONE OF THEM have to troll for business like you......
