OK, my wife is having a girls party tonight for toys for you know what! She wanted jello shots. How much vodka to water ratio do I use? Are they to strong if I use !00% vodka? Or %50 %50?

You can do 50/50, that's a good combo. My fav's are pineapple jello & malibu (put a piece of pineapple in each shot - it's really good)! Works good with orange flavor too. Peach and vodka (with sliced peaches) is tasty too, cranberry vodka is good...who am i kidding, they're all good! :crossx:

Made some last weekend and used peach jell-o with the Malibu Mango flavored rum. Turned out super yummy! I use the 50/50 ratio and put the liquor in the freezer so it sets quickly. Any combo is good because the flavoring is strong. :rollside: Oh and I also use the sugar-free so nobody can complain.

I have the best recipe.
Use Rasberry vodka and the fruity jellos like cherry, rasberry, and lemon!
Use 1.5 cups Hot water, stir until disolved. Add 1.5 cups Vodka, stir. Use 3 cups total liquid, this helps them stay firmer than the 4 cups for reg jello. 1.5 cups of vodka is pretty strong. If milder use more water and less vodka, but keep the total liquid 3 cups.
Bon apetite!

Ok, I used 1.25 Cups each of H20 and Vodka. Do I need 2 or 1 boxes of Jello?

I usually use the 2oz cups/lids from Smart and Final, the little salsa ones, and 1 box makes about 20 depending on how full you fill them. Sometimes I put surprises in the shots like maricino cherries, or rasberries from a bag of frozen ones. 1 box of jello per amount above.

For keeping them cold: a regular cooler with ice? Dry Ice work better?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Once they've set up in the frig. a reg cooler works. We've had them out in glamis for a couple hours in a reg cooler no prob. Dry Ice I think would be over kill. But if you have some lying around it couldn't hurt. Unless you got your finger stuck on the ice.

use malibu rum its much better than the vodka if you do use vodka us the flavor ones. we make ours with 2/3 water 1/3 booze. Little bit smoother plus everytime we make them we go through a cooler or two

1/2 water and 1/2 lighter booze works great, use the 1 oz. cups not those smaller ones. Smart and final

Ok, the party and the shots were a success!. I will be experimenting again. One question. Is it normal for the jello to stick in the plastic cups? I threw them in the freezer to cool them. Would that have done that?

Instead of the plastic cups, use the paper bathroom cups. We get the ones with the cartoons on them. With these, they still stick, but you can squeeze the cup and force the jello out.

Not until Sept. We usually try to go down the end of April, but this year we have a 5 mo old. Just too much work. You going this August?
Any one try spraying a little Pam in the cups first. Do not know if you would taste it. Might have to try it.
