Hey guys my uncle wants to get his berkley jet rebuilt on his 89 Carribean. Whats the usually price range? And any shops in the 909/714/626 that standout from the rest? Thanks in advance.

79 miller- Sorry what does MPD mean? Any Idea how much a rebuild would be, they are close and convenient.

also, Cyclone marine is in Pacoima....isn't that in the 909?

Pacoima is in the 818, between Northridge and Pasadena...
Don't know what Jack gets for the complete deal. I just in for a quickie fix. Unless he finds something while he's in there...

we went with Jack at MPD. got the JG pump done with a stage 1 1/2. new droop snoot, and new A/B Impeller. he also went through the entire pump and fixed 8 of the 16 bolt holes (double drilled). he spent alot of time with us and asked us exactly what we have and want to do with the boat and he did his magic. he is a no BS guy that im my opinion does excellent work. i would definatly go with him again on any of my pump needs. all the work was done in less than a week and the whole deal ran us about $1200.

My Berkeley 12JC just went south so I had a new Dominator pump made up for me including a 9-vane G bowl and droop snoot. The Dominator pump is indistuinguishable from the Berkely and mounted right up... came highly recommended over the Berkeley. Cost would have been much lower if I was nearer a shop, but ended up sinking about $1600 into her. I held onto my old pump, and can likely seek several hundred in parts on Ebay... speaking of which, anybody need a used 12JC...? Shaft is shot, but the housing is certainly buildable.
Highly recommend talking to Tom at Jet Boat Performance in Cali.
805-466-4719. Hell of a guy, shipped her all the way to Michigan and was avaible by cell for step by step tech advice as needed...
Not to mention he through in a set of OT Bassets one year new with all the fixin's for $275....

GS Marine, (909)272-6060 they are in Corona. I have been very happy with them. All my friends also take thier boats their and are very happy. Greg knows his stuff and it shows by how busy his shop is.

I used MPD in Costa Mesa. I did a rebuild with a stage one blueprint. What a difference it made. Plus Jack will talk to you about what he did or will do. Look over at realjetboats.com and read up on MPD. Sharp guy and great work.

Isn't that the price of the rebuild kit w/o impeller?

I bought a complete kit W/impeller from CP late last year. It was $430 delivered to the house.

I would think a "basic" rebuild would include an impeller. Modifications would be extra. For what a kit costs ($399) ....seems foolish not to utilize a new impeller. Seems old CP sticks you on the shipping for some reason. I used them recently and got the "stick it to ya shipping" treatment. I sware they play games with that. Last time for me. Looks like ol REX needs a second look. Just dont tell mike. :rolleyes:
