The problem I am having is that the pump seems to have no thrust it's like it is in nuetral. the pump is a berk. 12jg with a a- impeller. took the inspection cover off but can't see anything to cause the problem. any help would be great. had the pump rebuilt at marine performance about a year ago.

Check under the boat some sticks and junk get caught in the intake grate sometimes and that will cause the pump to not load properly.

Does the motor reach its normal max RPM? Is the substantial vibration?
Some quick things to check are:
1) Make sure the nozzle cover is opening and closing properly. Sometimes the control cable gets out of adjustment.
2) Double check that something didn't get sucked into the bowl. Anything in the bowl will impact thrust.
3) I hope this is not the case but the impeller might be spinning on the pump shaft. Ouch!
4) Did a buddy of your stick potato's (or is that potatoe hehe) up the nozzle?

Make sure your inspection cover is on tight and that the o-ring is clean and in place. Once had the clean-out cover nut cross-thread and I thought the cover was on tight when in fact is was just the wing nut that was tight, and the pump was sucking air.

HBJet - Did they find my HAT? That Dallas Cowboys hat would definitely cause the pump not to load. lol Maybe it's stuck in my engine, though.
