I sat on a friends 40 foot boat out in the bay while they flew for Fleet Week. Best seat in the house!

I remember seeing the JATO C130 take off at one of the old El Toro airshows, it was killer, it went just about vertical for about a 1000 feet!

Yeah, I saw it at one of the Moffet NAS air shows in Norcal. It was bad ass...
In fact that was the best air show I'd ever been to. They had the prototype tilt-rotor plane that was used to test the technology that is in the Osprey.

actually my old boss was in the snowbirds and they put on the same kind of show..not to take off anything from the Blue Angles...but they are just as awsome to watch...he had a mishap in 1972 and blew up a plane, his name Is Johnathon Pew

The Snowbirds could shoot down the Blue Angels like Jed Clampett shooting skeet.

That is some good stuff, thanks for sharing...I saved them all. We usually go to the air show right by my house (March Air Force Base) if we dont go, we can hear and see it from my house just a few blocks away. I still remember leaving one year and one made a fly bye within 40' of us, I could see the pilot and the sound was insane. Great stuff! http://dmontzmax.maximaclubca.com/SigsAndAvatars/Smilies/Tomcat.gif

I was going to see how upset I could get them before I pointed out the Snowbirds use unarmed Tutor jets. Considering the age of that hardware, we're lucky they're still flying. Literally.
Maybe they could use their sidearms. Do we issue bullets to millitary personel?
I've seen the Blue Angels a couple of times. They are a pleasure to watch.

Blue Angels (and Thunderbirds) shows are unbelievable for anybody who has not been. Jaw-dropping amazing.
It's cool if you listen in on their radio communications - the entire routine is called out in a cadence similar to a marching band. Really trippy to listen to.
Thanks for the cool photos.

JBB, have you ever been to Pensacola Naval Air station/museum ? it's only a few hours south of Atlanta and it's the Blue Angels homebase, they let you watch and listen to their practice sessions where they work on new programs and routines, the museum is EXCELLENT!!!
