Good thing we can't asses a $ amount on time working on the boat ... getting ready to go etc...
Not trying to stir the pot but it really made me think about it... every penny is worth it though........................................

Boat payment- $620 but pay $1,000
Insurance- $515 per month
Boat storage $152 per month
Trailer space $360 per month
Trailer payment $150 per month
Gas in boat $200ish per WEEKEND
Gas in truck $150ish per WEEKEND
Alcohol $200 easily on a slow weekend
Food $150 easily on a slow weekend
Ice $50 per WEEKEND
**Does not include the parts wasted in a weekend... Over $15,000 this year and non of these were major problems...
My weekends are usually from wed-sun but sometimes thu-sun but go every weekend unless there is a problem with the boat.
Unfortunaltly I easily spend over $5,000 with everything related to my little habit that is called boating. This is no bullchit or exageration, but maybe I should find something else. Is it wrong that your boat costs more to purchase then your house, (newer home 1995sq ft two story)???
Damn, maybe I should do some more investments instead. KELLY

Is this some kind of sick joke. Adding up what a month of boating costs makes a feller just want to swallow the barrel of his .45. Boat payment of $640, insurance paid allready for the year of $500, gas each trip for boat $300+, diesel to get to lake $60, grub (? ask the wife), plus all the other little things like registration, taxes and I think maybe I ought to take up bowling. The worst of it is looking forward to the payments when it's 10 degrees outside only to know my local lake (Powell) may be dry next summer. Now you know where my post name came from! Why did I just buy a new boat?

Boat payment $140. Insurance $30. Gas = 0 because the boat hasnt seen water (w/ the exception of snow and rain) since May and wont see any for the rest of this season.

If we stay local, 100.bucks for the weekend, thats gas for the Excursion and the boat, but to go to Laughlin and play at Mohave just cost me around 450.00 for the boat and truck 75.00 for the room, misc 200.00 and food 50 bucks, but hat was just me going now if the wife and the three girls went you can quadruple all the Misc. expenses, boats paid for, storage for the boat and the RV 90 a month , insurance is 550.00 a year for the boat, so we're not too bad off for our trips and luckily all thats broken this year was the tranny in the truck, warranty took care of that and a broken bow eye 10.00 bucks so far it's been a cheap summer for us, but that will soon change as the kids will all be off for a week and a half so we're planning to hit Millerton thats gonna cost us. OHMYCRAP!! You guys spend a lot of change on this stuff!!! Not that I wouldn't like to.....but...... :)
I went the low budget way: Paid cash for the boat so no payment. Insurance is like $35 a month. That just leaves me with gas and party favors. Oh yeah, the motorhome too but that's paid for also so......I guess I'm a "low roller":)
My wife get's irritated when I need to sink money into the boat as it is, I can only imagine what it must be like for some of you guys:jawdrop:

If you wanted to get technical you probably could say my monthly mortgage payment is a result of my habit. I wouldn't be living on a lake if I didn't enjoy boats as much as I do. The house payment may be more but at least I don't have to pay money for storage/trailering/lodging/etc
