i have black permatex rtv silicone. do i need to use the marine silicone instead on my transom adapter???

Aggressor makes a nice gasket for the transom adapter. IT makes life a whole lot easier. Its a pain in the a$$ to get the transom adapter off with marine silicone :mad: :mad: If you dont use the gasket then I wouldnt use anything but marine grade silicone;)

Only if you don't want it to deteriorate and start leaking. ;)
And if you don't overdo it you can get them off.

Just use a good gasket and a little grease. If it is clean & smooth it won't leak. Just did mine that way, zero leaks. The old silicone was a royal pain to remove, and you can damage the transom trying to scrape scratch and pry the stuff off when the time comes again.
