Your computer is trying to boot ie6wz.exe on startup and can't find it. I am not sure exactly what program that is (internetgetconnectestate wininet.dlll.) but it sounds like spyware of some sort. You can try to block it from trying to load it on startup, and then reload your messenger.

Try this:
Start, run, then type msconfig
then go to the startup tab on the top right..
Search for the program that is causing the problem and uncheck it.
This is assuming you have Windows XP

You've probably been hosed with spy ware. Get some good spyware remover, like SpyBot or Adaware 6.0 and run an update, remove everything you can detect, then reboot and do it all over again. It may take 2 or 3 full scans to completely get rid of all the crap, but eventually you'll get it done.
scan at least monthly and keep the little spyware bastards at bay.
If you still have problems, I've got some more ideas...

You don't say what led up to this error... However, windows updates can cause an "entrypoint not found" error. If you have just applied a service pack and now the error appears, try reinstalling the service pack...
Otherwise you may have to use the system restore utility to step backward a day or two...

If you have XP, roll the computer back a week.
It's trying to run an Internet Explorer ver 6 (IE6) program, you might make sure your virus free, download the latest version of IE and try it.

Definately Adaware is always a good idea. I can help you get the problem fixed. Give these ideas a try and post your results and we can go from there.

Also, If you decide to use the roll back feature, make sure to back up any files created between now and the time you are going back to.

A quick search shows nothing on ie6wz.exe... Definately not a Microsoft program, but an IE add on instead.

Actually, data files that you create are NOT rolled back.. Only system files.
Now for the CYA clause... Backup always before you make ANY system change...

Download and run spybot.
Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and run the free virus scanner.
Go to http://www.microsoft.com and run the windows update function so you hopefully don’t get hit again.
If you want a good firewall go to http://www.sygate.com and look around. They have a version of the software firewall that is free and it works very well. If you are running other software like norton internet security or any other software firewall don’t install sygate or it will fight with the other software and it wont work.
While you are at it I would defrag your C: drive.
Back up everything before you begin.

Although Spybot / Adaware are awesome programs, and everyone should use them. They won't correct errors that have already been created due to spyware such as this one. It will work wonders in making your computer run faster end error free, but when it comes to boot errors, it's going to take a little more work.

Awe, That is cute... LOL
You're looking for the programs Spybot or Adaware which have nothing to do with Norton. You can check to see if you have those programs in Start - Settings - control panel - ad or remove programs.. This will bring up a list of all the programs you have installed.

If you don't already have these, find them here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
and
http://www.ada-ware.com/
Also www.downloads.com will probably have them both.

In most cases with spyware, you should turn off the restore feature and then run the spyware checker whichever one it may be, some of the spy ware has been on your computer for some time just waiting to opened up, also i remember that Microsoft was having a serious problem with IE6, and i know i didn't accept the upgrade till i saw a patch for it @ Microsoft. just some stuff i have learned over the years, it's done me well bitten me once, i have to admit, but it was my fault. Good luck. Mike VG

Also while we are on the subject, it is always a good idea to download the latest service packs and security updates from Microsoft.

You can set that to be done automatically, i've done that and they remind you that you have new updates and when do you want to install them, i am amazed at how mnay people do not update their operating system or the virus checker, then complain that they cannot access this or that or a page won't load........ worse to me are the folks like my own father who'd rather stick with the win95 sys he has than learn anything new. oh well

Some Kind Of Monster

Right, If Windows XP is set up properly it should do it automatically or at least remind you to update like Mrs Vee said. I have a lot of clients that bring in computers with sensitive information that have never had an update before. Can you say backdoor hacking?

very good advice to turn off the system restore but one step further scan it in safe mode .... when windows is starting hit f8 and start in safe mode . alot of problem files cant be found in regular mode as well as when system restore is on cause the anitivirus or spybot remover cant gain acess to these file because they are locked out...i have noticed that alot of the antivirus programs and spybot programs wont pick up alot of the problem children but if you need ANY SOFTWARE let me know i can hook you up for free via ftp...as to the norton firewall it works great but isnt for the beginers it has some complex settings in it that you really have to know how to set up.. i have run it for 3 years now and had no problems..I am a hacker and i cant even get into my own computer when its on so i do highly recoment it over some of the other firewalls out there such as zonealarm i can get past that in 5 seconds ... your problem may be in the registry as you have a modual that is calling for a program that isnt in the spot its suposed to be..i woulkd try the update after you have run the addware and spybots removal tools .. i would recomend running spybots after every internet sesion as you may think you are safe cause you are only coming here or going to rexmar.com you would be suprised at how many things can nail you that arnt from the sites you are visiting.....it doesent sound as if you have been rooted or you would have much bigger problems so i wouldnt worry about thinking anyones is in your computer.....just my .02

Actually Mike I took the moat out recently (neighbors were complaining of unsightlyness and diesel smell) and installed a high pressure spray system of hydrachloric acid with a secondary gasoline spray with autoignightors. These are also triggered by infrared sensors just beyond the bear traps. So even if they make it to the 12 gauges all we get is a few scattered ashes at that point. :)
I feel Sam the Sham and Gary Puckett are pretty secure.
