When I was like 11, I went to a cart racing school at the lake perris fairgrounds. I didn't drive a shifter, but I did drive an 80cc. I hope to race shifters someday.

Yeah HFK I got a shifter and they kick ass. I got real lucky my uncle and cousin raced carts and I got one of their old chasis and motors, all I had to do was put it together. The motor is out of the cart that my cousin won the nationals with so it moves. If you guys are serious about carts then you'd probably know my cousin Patrick Long, at one point he finished third in the worlds, which was the highest any american had finished in a very long time.
I agree though we have to wait until it cools down a bit! Right now it is way too hot.

Havasu Hot Laps isn't that bad at night, besides where else can you drive completely wasted and get away with it. It's also a lot of fun and the best part is the cold towel that they give you when your done racing. :rollside:

What type of carts are you guys running? I have a Tibby with a cr 80 in it, but my cousin and uncle have a couple crg's with european 125's, plus a formula A that I have access to. Where is this hot laps place? I'll be at the Nautical all Weekend and wouldn't mind heading over.
