No offence and all, and I hate to be the one posting this here but there is now a V bottom that could spank ANY cat on this website.. BLING and Predator included!!! read up!
August 7, 2004. Washington, NC… The Pamlico River continues to be the fastest stretch of water in the world as Nine (9) new world speed records were established, with Fountain Powerboats, Inc. setting 5, today during the Fountain Mercury/Super Boat International Grand Prix.
Thunder was heard across the Pamlico at 7:00am as Reggie Fountain, CEO and President of Fountain Powerboats and Ben Robertson took their 42 foot Fountain onto the kilo course setting a first pass speed of 166.407mph and then making a blistering second pass speed of 177.359mph for a new world Super Boat International Productions, SBIP, record of 171.883mph. The American Power Boat Association/UIM, APBA/UIM, record of 171.004. This new record eclipsed the old record by over 10mph.
"I am very proud of our team that made these records happen," said Reggie Fountain. "These records establish that Fountain Powerboats, Inc. is the leader in performance powerboats."
The world record was established over a set kilometer course sanctioned by both the SBIP and APBA/UIM.

If you really wanna be sad... go check out the Video ... that thing looks unbelievably stable!! My hats off to Reggie and Fountain..

that's pretty cool...but all the unlimited cats are in the 200 mph

The ulimited cats are not running in the 200 mph range. Like 3do said, I think the Bacardi and the Callan boat are the only cats that have run over 200.
We will see how long it takes for OuterLimits to make a run at Reggies new record. OL claims that they have run over 180 in a 47 GTX.

Reggie kind of reminds me of Donald Trump. He thinks that everything he does is the biggest and greatest. Oh well, that is still very fast for a V-bottom but they will never catch the top running cats. It's called physics. :p

Tough bunch of bitches!!GEES
I still say 177mph in a V is like 277 in a cat... you guys ever ridden in one of those long, skinny, kidney brusin things??
:D :D :D

They say those motors have 1500hp....
Bull shit, those things are making way more power than that....
Reggie seems like a shyster, Im guessing closer to 2000hp....
In the end that boat still hauls ass....

I have heard the same thing, Mike Foire is not a bullshitter either, he always come through with what he says his boats can do. Theres lots more to come.
On Aug. 1, 2003, Scott and Tomlinson drove the Bacardi Silver machine to the fastest official speed in Offshore Powerboat racing history when they clocked in at 202.907 mph on the Pamlico River of Washington, N.C., for an official SBI Kilo record

It's hard just to get a V to a 100mph, but 177mph in a V :jawdrop:
BTW still .3 from a 100mph maybe if I take less beer, gas and ass I will make it!!

Good thing he's got a helmet on under the canopy as well. I'm sure the comb-over would scrub off a good 20 mph if it got up into the wind. :2purples:  :)

Mike is a good guy. I met him at DSM last year when he flew out to water test a customers boat that had been re-done after it sank. Can't beat that for customer service.
BTW, we ran 94 MPH yesterday in a old heavy Cigarette before we ran out of props bumping the limiters at 6k off Long Beach. I was looking for some cats to play with us but there was more than a 2' chop so I guess I should have known better. :p :D

what kind of power you runnin now?

Havasu Cig
08-14-2004, 09:12 AM
Not my boat we were in a friends Tiger. He just bumped the power from 900's to 1000's. With the right props it should be running over 100. The thing is definitely a beast though. Straight bottom, big power, #6 dry sumps ect... A serious wave crusher.
Our boat might be seeing some power in the future though. ;)
BTW: when is your boat going in the mold?

Both horny videos. It was cool watching Tomlinson work those throttles. Fountain has done alot to contribute to the industry and racing, but personally I'd like to see Outerlimits hand Reggie his a$$. :crossx:

I would be trading in my nortech and all other cats for a SKATER!!!!!!!!!! Rumor has it that outerlimits is building a 50ft with twin 2000hp motors i believe phaff is doing the motors for it!!!!
