I try to stay away from them...but, the thread about people owning boats and being here from gnarley struck a chord with me...
some friends of mine are demo' they vote demo' and love to bash the current admin'. other than that you would never know it...nice cars, good money and they don't like to pay taxes..(what supports all the "liberal"programs$$$$$????)
it's getting trendy to hammer the current admin'...that getting easy, what's the alternative???
kerry???
how much did his wife pay in taxes??? (again, what funds federal programs?)
the Demo's I know, are really conservatives and don't know it...

I agree, if you get into a discussion with most dems they really don't support the positions of their leaders.
If dems like Kerry/edwards/hollywood want to support programs they think will work why don't they set up a foundation to do it. Take Soros and all his friends (socialists) and they could fund any program they want.
When you look at all of the programs the government runs now from schools to VA hospitals I don't see how anyone would want them in charge of anything else.

reminds me of my kid's kindergarten class ...
asks if I want her in bi-lingual class...says she'll learn spanish...cool, sounds good ,yeah
find out she get's stuck in a corner for the year ...learning few words in es spanol....
her and her friends were at a table that didn't need help...
Now, with the testing, they have accountability......
i'm probably more liberal than my demo' friends... :rollside:

I hate be or sound Racist, but please explain to me why my kid HAS to learn Spanish, yes i know why, but why are we wasting money and time bowing down as i feel we are and offering bi-lingual classes.
Are Bi-lingual classes offered anywhere else , any other country, most schools teach the basics, and you are required to take the language of your choice, french is a more universal language than spanish, yet because of the changing nature of Calif. Ariz. and Texas we force our kids and ourselves to learn another language, whereas the opposite is not true, spanish speakers are not required to learn English, it is "offered" as a class in most Jr. and Sr. High's .
And look at the DMV every pamphlet , book, test, rule is in 50 different languages, i exaggerated yes but c'mon!
Ok i can take a breath and relax, this little rant/vent group thing is fun :rollside: Mike VG

I feel fortunate. I know maybe 2 couples that are dems and they don't like Kerry or his wife. They also don't like Jr. but they think that Laura Bush is solid gold. Not one person in our company is democratic so I have a hard time believing that California will vote Bush out. v-drive

Isn't it always like that with politics, each side agrees about what needs to be done but has radically opposing views on how to do it or make it happen, some of the dems i know i would have sworn were Reps, my wife is a dem but not into politics, therefore i call her a sheep she's told by her friends at work all union members who what and how to vote , because thats the union way, by the way just to let it be known , i was a union member and in no way am against them, they have their place in the economy and thats fine by me, but when i ask/confront her on the issues she has no clue what i am saying, and i have seen too much of that in the past.
When you look at the media, and lets take MTV for example the Get The Vote Out is a great idea, but they tend to swing to the left, not fairly portaying an issue evenly from both sides, so the youngins say yeah thats bad vote Dem, and if a kid from a Rep side tries to give them facts contrary to what they have been told to believe then that kid is a rich snob and on and on. I just wish that more of the registered voters got out there and VOTED, my god single and sometimes double digits low double digit turnouts, like i was told by my father, if you didn't vote don't bitch!!!

Then i guess you've got to get mom to start watching more Fox News Channel  Maybe she will become more middle of the road one extreme to the other. MVG

Maybe the editor is a dem, or the paper is owned by a company that goes the dem way, but what was written is basically the truth, Bush would be an idiot not to take advantage of the situation , it'll be interesting how he handles this. Darn natural disasters gettin' in the way of a campaign!!!! how dare they hmmmph!!!!!

just copied and am pasting this very interesting reading, thanks to Wifey over at Havasu Dougs site.
"After years of Washington promises, President Bush signed into law the first ever prescription drug benefit under Medicare with bipartisan support and the support of the AARP. This bill is the biggest improvement in senior health care since Medicare was established and will lower the amount seniors pay for prescription drugs.
John Kerry has pledged to repeal this historic bill. That is a position that seniors don't support, and John Kerry's scare tactics aren't going to earn him the trust of America's seniors." -Steve Schmidt

Kerry's Flip Flop of the Day:
In 1994, Kerry Said Democrats Push Health Care Too Much. “[Kerry] said Kennedy and Clinton’s insistence on pushing health care reform was a major cause of the Democratic Party’s problems at the polls.” (Joe Battenfeld, “Jenny Craig Hit With Sex Harassment Complaint - By Men,” Boston Herald, 11/30/94)
But Now Kerry Calls Health Care His “Passion.” “Sen. John Kerry says expanding coverage is ‘my passion.’” (Susan Page, “Health Specifics Could Backfire On Candidates,” USA Today, 6/2/03)

This is a bogus law and a crock of dung. I read that not too many Senators actually read the bill but signed on anyway. AARP is a for profit business, not just a club. When this law was passed my parents were so pissed they tore up their membership in AARP and canceled all subscriptions to them. This Medicare drug policy is a joke and there are a lot of seniors who feel that way, my parents and their neighbors are some of them. AARP stood to make millions off this plan that was shoved through. Do any of you really know much about it? I didn't until my parents read the bill and told me about it.
If you don't know much about it ask your parents or grand parents how it affects them. A big improvement for who??? Ask around, I would say it is a big improvement for drug company profits and taking more money from seniors who don’t have it to give in the first place. So what is more important a roof over your parents or grand parents home or the drugs they need to live, how would you like to make that choice?

I agree that the law is stupid... it is exceedingly costly for the country and somehow mysteriously doesn't have much benefits. I strongly opposed it when it was before congress and wrote letters to my congressman and senators.
I think it's that giant sucking sound again... the money is going somewhere. Another example of how the government doesn't do much of anything right.
