I have found a 1990 OMC King Cobra 460 w/ 340HP. I am told that compression is 135-150 lbs in all cylinders. Is that good? What kind of RPM range are these capable of. Do you guys think this a good motor for a jet? Ant
Also what or who is OMC?

Omc/ford Sometimes Volvo Are Ok Performers, But Alvaiability Of Core And Accessorey Parts Is Much More Wide Spread And Plentiful For The Big Block Gm Family Of Engines. At The Marinba I Work At Me Have Gm Parts On The Shelf(mercruiser) Old And Brandy New But Not Too Much Ford Or Chrysler Stuff Around. Any Time We Need Other Parts It's More Of A Challange, And Generally More Expensive. The Gm Stuff Works Great, It's Cheaper, And There Is A Vast Amount Of Both Used And New Product Out There. It's Cool To Join The Cult Following Of The Non-gm Brands, But If Your On A Budget Go Gm....just My..$.02 Worth...bill. Ps For Many Years I Was A Die-hard 65-66 Mustang Guy, But Things Change.
