Hi all jetfans and owners!!
I'm a guy from sweden that is about to buy my own jetboat. Anyone know anywhere I can find videoclips of jetboats?? Would really apriciate that!!
The seller claims it's a tahiti 21 with an old 455 engine that is bored 0.30 to 462cui. ported heads, hydraulic cam and a holley 850 dubbelpumper. Should pull around 400hp, i guess. The pump is a Berkely 12JC-A. Anyone know anything about this kind of boat?
I would also like to know the difference between the berkleypumps 12JG,C anf F...
I guess i will be using this forum alot if i buy the boat :-)

Daniel, where in Sweden are you? I was born in Stockholm and lived in Sodertalje the first half of my life.
I used to have a 455 Olds and to tell you the truth, I had nothing but bad luck with that motor. I would try to stick with a big block Chevy........or a Volvo????LOL! http://www.plauder-smilies.de/laugh1.gif
BTW, how is my Swedish Bikini Team doing? http://www.plauder-smilies.de/cool.gif

Hi and thx for the reply!
I live in the middle of Sweden about 500kilometres north of Stockholm.
The engine in the boat is totally rebuilt and hopefully in good shape. Btw is BB chevys very expensive here in Sweden.
I don't know anything about your bikiniteam though... :-)

.......so was mine, but that didn't mean jack when I threw a rod.
From what I know, which is very little, these motors have a lubrication problem. It can be cured by installing oil restrictors........It may cost you slightly more to buy a 454 Chevy now, but parts are a lot cheaper and much easier to find, so in turn it will cost you less in the long run.

iam with chesta here the bbc is a way beter motor to go with , i knw iam going to get crap for this last statement but fords are good motors to and they dont have the inherant oiling issues that 455s have , other wise i woud say that the boat is good, with out seeing a pic its hard to tell.
and the the jc pump is a ok bowl the jg would be better! you could mount a droop on that were as a c bowl no luck only a place diverter and thats it. good luck tahitis are good boats! we used to have one!

You were probably better off considering it had an olds. How much jet boating goes on in Sweden? Were you buying that boat in Sweden or from somewhere else? Good luck in your hunt.

Hi There!
There are not much jetboating going on in sweden, i guess that there aren't more then a maximum of 20-30 boats in the whole of sweden.
I buy my boats within sweden but wouldn't mind importing one from the states. Guess that the shipping cost would acceed the boatprice :-)

Hmmm??? not sure what it would cost. It might be worth looking into. Apparently others have done it before you?
How much was the boat going to cost? I remember when I lived in Germany, the Germans loved owning big American cars. Cars that we think suck. All the while, Americans love owning BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's, and Volvos. I bet you can get a ton of girls with a loud jet boat in Sweden?
As far as cost of a similar boat here goes, you could find several under $5,000. Check out http://www.boattrader.com

I don't think it would be to bad to ship if you really wanted one. I mean if you think about it what other choice do you have. I bet around 1500 buck. Go with a BBC
