On our way home from Blythe there was a really bad fire on the I10 right before the rest area when heading west. It appeared to be an RV and a F150 attached completely engulfed in flames. Anyone know what happened? Did the owners get out safe? It looked really bad and I hope no one was hurt or killed from it.
Here are a few pictures we snapped as we came up on it.

I agree. After seeing that today, I definitely dread the idea of that happening. The smoke and fire was so intense when we finally got up to it.

They were still cleaning up when I came by it. There was a crew cab truck involved too. The thing burned right to the ground. Hope everyone was OK.

I think I came up on it when it first broke out. It was a red nissan extra cab that was attached and it seemed that everyone made it out ok. Pretty serious fire I can't remember ever seeing flames that high on a auto fire.

When we went by the flames were so bad you could barely make out the truck attached on the back. I've never seen a vehicle fire like that before. Hopefully they did make it out ok.

looks like someone spends more time washing the front window not the back.(LOL)I sure hope everybody was ok.

Yeah, the truck was nasty after the rain on Friday... disgusting I should say... it shows eh' :yuk: When we were passing it I saw a bunch of people out standing at the cars behind it, I am pretty sure everyone got out in time, no one running around frantically so I hope so anyhow. Quite a site to see... It makes you think about what can happen when you see stuff like that... pretty scary!

We were coming back to havasu around 5:30 6:00 and got stuck for about an hour in traffic going up the grade.
Looked like they just overheated going up the grade and pushed it a little too far instead of stopping and letting it cool off.

That sucks. We saw quite a few people peeling off the freeway and off-roading down the center of the west and east bound lanes.
I bet you're exactly right. Someone decided to push their overheating RV a little to far up the grade. Even though we have a newer truck, I always keep my eye on the eng and tranny temp gauges.
