Does anyone know a good reasonable motor head in the 909 (951.. whatever). I think my engine finally took a dump after 450hrs. It's a stock 502MPI and I'd like to rebuild it (providing the block is still good) and maybe bore it out a little and give it a little more oomph. Possible get 500-600hp without a blower. I would like to stay away from the name guys (Pfaff, Teague, Quality, etc. Definatly not Savage!!) any help would be appreciated.....

Is Oklahoma close enough to the 909?

Just remember you get what you pay for.
I'm sure there are lots of good small time builders out there, but, you can't go wrong with the rep of some of the more well-known builders.
I went to Paul Pfaff for my build. Paid quite a few bucks but at least I know what I got and the motor was done right the first time. Customer service is huge to me too. They were patient and educational.
Dave at DNE is another well respected builder.
Good luck, let us know what you come up with.

There's always the shipping method :)
What does shipping for an engine cost from OK to CA?

Try Dougans out in Riverside. We used to use them for our machine work on our craftsman truck and Winston West engines. Infact they are in the new ***boat mag with the Mike Finigan build up.

I am also not opposed to the shipping method... hell I'd think that anyone outside of CA may know more, just cause they have a little more freedom to tinker with

Maybe less. You may have an empty return trip in a couple of days, right???
