I didn't hit anything, it looks like it started with a stress crack and eventually broke the rest of the way off. Which reminds me of a story. A couple years ago, I was using my boat to help a boatload of moochers...errr..."friends" learn how to wakeboard. Well, sure enough, the boat broke about an hour into it.
The engine revs, but it won't go in gear. So, as the captain of the ship, I begin the task of hunting down the problem. After I have the shifter (and part of the dash) apart, my one "friend" said, "uh Houston, we have a problem."
"What" I asked.
"Aren't we supposed to have a prop on the outdrive?"
Yep...the nut came loose, and my new stainless was sent to the bottom of Havasu. One of my finer moments.

That's better than the sunglasses I left down there. I don't feel so bad about them now.
Well, it sounds like I'm not gonna be out of pocket on this one. I was sick about having to drop money on a new prop.
