I think I have my boat sold. The guy wants to meet in the Yuma area. I am thinking that Martinez would be a good place. What is the best public launch and what is the best route to get to it from Phoenix? If not Martinez are there any other places near Yuma to run an I/O without getting too shallow?
Thanks,
OL

To get to Lake Martinez, Take I-8 toward Yuma. Take the FORTUNA RD exit (#12). Turn RIGHT onto S FORTUNA RD. 1.9 miles. Turn RIGHT onto US-95. 13.0 miles. Turn LEFT onto FISHERS LANDING RD (Martinez Lake Rd is what the sign says) 9.8 miles. The road ends at Fisher's landing, a 6-lane launch ramp with plenty of parking.

Thanks. I just talked to the guy and he has a trailer at Hidden Shores. Is this close by? He wants to meet there. I have never been down there so this is all new territory to me.
Thanks again

To get to hidden shores, go about 7 miles south on the river, then turn left at the dam.
Or if by car, take the Fortuna Rd exit, go north on 95, turn left at the big huge guns pointing into the air (Yuma Proving Grounds). After about 8 miles, turn Right at the Hidden Shores sign.

Tidbit: If you are running an I/O I would suggest boating closer to the dam because it is much deeper. especially if you have never been there before.
If this guy has a place at Hidden Shores he should know how to read the river pretty well.
I would just hate to see you mess up your lower unit on a test drive.

Hidden Shores is deep enough......Squaw Lake has a launch ramp and will be a little closer for you, but not much.
