Great news considering. I can't get this image of Roger being involved in the whole thing out of my head. I can't imagine the hurt he is feeling right now. People who are that outgoing tend to be affected more than most when stuff like this happens.
Let him know we are all here for him.

The sad thing about the whole deal is that the Driver who hit him was DRUNK :hammerhea :boxingguy AT 6:00PM when most people would be coming home from work or leaving out of town. The driver also left the scene and Roger chased him down and the guy wouldn't stop. Good thing somebody seen the guy run and used his truck to cut the guy of and run him into the guard rail and grab his keys.
Here is the article from the paper. Billy was going to celebrate his 40th Birthday tomorrow.
Motorcyclist Hit, Killed on Freeway Is Identified
From Times Staff Reports
August 22, 2004
A 39-year-old motorcyclist killed on the Santa Ana Freeway in Fullerton on Friday night was identified as William Baclawski of Buena Park, the Orange County coroner's office said.
Baclawski died after a Dodge Dakota swerved and hit his motorcycle. He was then was struck by a tractor-trailer while he was on the ground.
The driver of the Dodge, Ricardo Cedeno of Anaheim, 32, failed a sobriety test, the California Highway Patrol said. Cedeno was arrested on felony charges of drunk driving and hit-and-run.

O.C. man had lifelong passion for motorcycles
Billy Baclawski of Buena Park wasn't afraid of risk or embracing a challenge.
By ROBIN HINCH
The Orange County Register
Today is Billy Baclawski's 40th birthday and he was planning to do it up big - as he did everything in life.
Friends and family were to leave last Saturday for a chartered, reggae party-boat dinner cruise. They'd chartered a bus to take them to and from the starting point in Oceanside. It had been planned for weeks and everyone was excited.
Billy, who lived in Buena Park but whose job as a computer information technology specialist was headquartered in Chicago, flew in from the Windy City on Friday.
He was one of those lucky guys with lots of fun-loving friends and an easy manner that made him ready for anything, any time.
Sadly, good fortune and fate don't always go hand in hand. And now, instead of a birthday party, his family is planning a funeral.
The day Billy arrived in Orange County, he decided to take a ride on his beloved motorcycle - custom-made last year by his brother Jason to Billy's specifications.
He was riding home at 6 p.m. on the southbound Santa Ana (I-5) Freeway at Magnolia Avenue when he was hit by a pickup whose driver has since been charged with felony drunken driving. Billy was knocked off his bike, then run over by a big rig.
Born in Duryea, Pa., Billy grew up in La Palma and graduated from Kennedy High School. He was remarkably bright and hard-working.
He became a waiter at Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club in Corona del Mar as a teen and by the time he was 19 had saved enough money to buy a water-ski boat.
He then got a degree in computer and management sciences from California State University, Fullerton, and went to work for Center of Excellence, a subsidiary of Golden State Foods.
His job as senior director of information technology took him all over the world. But he was always glad to get back to his house in Buena Park.
It wasn't a big place, but it was open to everyone. Billy loved having people around.
He was an unforgettable character - handsome (with sparkling, silver-blue eyes that made girls' knees weak at first glance), funny, vibrant, tender and larger than life. Every day you were around him, something memorable happened. If there was a party, the first thing people asked was, "Is Billy here?"
He lived every day as if it might be his last. He was a risk-taker, a water skier, boater and bike rider. He loved trips to the river, barbecues, skiing, dancing, laughter and Captain Morgan rum.
The only thing that interfered with his life was that other people needed sleep. And that sometimes interfered with having more fun.
He'd been infatuated with motorcycles almost since he could walk and had his first little Yamaha before reaching his teens. He graduated to a Moped to get to and from school, then to big bikes.
The motorcycle his brother built him was phenomenal, with custom-cut fenders, as fat a back tire as you can get and a big-inch motor. It was, in the words of his brother Jason, "a copy of a Harley, but bigger, better, faster."
Blue and white, the bike's paint job reflected a Captain Morgan rum theme, as did his custom-painted helmet. Whether he rode five blocks or 50 miles, Billy polished that bike from top to bottom the minute he got home.
His house was a beehive of social activity, with people coming and going at will - even when he wasn't there. There was always plenty to drink and something delicious that Billy would barbecue.
But as carefree as he seemed, Billy had a serious side, too. He was meticulous about his work, smart and shrewd about business dealings, and he could be stubborn as a goat. Things were, says Theresa, his girlfriend of several years, Billy's way or no way.
And arguing with him was pointless. Somehow, his winning way made him the winner every time.
He'd never married, but was devoted to Theresa and to her 6-year-old daughter, Caitlyn. He was planning to buy a bigger house, have children and to find a job that didn't require so much traveling.
"I gotta settle down, Mom," he'd been telling his mother recently. "It's time."

As a fellow rider, this hits hard right at home. I know all too well the risks I take when I sling a leg over. It is such a feeling to ride...however life is very fragile.
Godspeed my friend, we have lost yet another good man.
Condolences to him, his family, and friends.
