whats the differnce between the oval port heads,my buddy down the street has a bbc like me but his seems to have smaller openings his casting # is 346236,mine is 353049 any info would be great. :rollside:

This lacks intake cc volume and such, but they look to be the same combustion chamber size.

how do you know if you have large oval or small,i owned an olds so its new to me.

his heads are oval port, open chamber 75-87 454
yours are oval port, open chamber 73-84 396-402-454
he has the peanut port heads and you have the larger ovals. Your heads have the largest "as cast" large oval port exhaust runner that were made with a maximum of 119cc. The large port heads breathe well up to 6500rpm as the small ports only breathe well up to 5000rpm. Your heads should have a 2.06" intake valve and a 1.72"exhaust valve. This is assuming the heads are in stock form. Hope this info helps :rollside:
