Can you guys tell me if my 1000lb engine stand is strong enough to hold my complete with logs 455 motor? I need to pull it out and put it on a stand. I really don't want to go buy a 2000 lb stand just so the motor can sit on it for a few weeks. Will the 1000lb work? How much does this motor weigh complete?
Thanks Jay

I had one on my 1000lb stand for 2 months. You should be fine.

says 620lbs with accessories but no flywheel. Mine has been sitting on a 1000lb engine stand for a couple months too..

I did the same here.
As an added measure, I fabbed up a wood block to support the front of the engine while it was resting on the stand..

I did the wood block thing too back when I was rebuilding the 351C in my Mach 1. Won't hurt but you don't really need it.
