I just noticed this weekend my remote oil filter is Luke warm. :2purples: I started looking after I noticed oil pressure has been going down after a long run at high RPMÂ’s. Obviously oil is not flowing through the cooler and filter. The engine is a BBC 454 Mark IV. Is there a pressure relief valve in the relocation adapter that bolts onto the block?

If the oil goes thru the cooler first then the filter will be cooler, that's the way mine is and my filter is never hot!...Just a thought!..

If you can, consider replumbing it so the hot oil goes to the filter first (hot oil will flow thru the element easier than cold), then the cooler. You're not running a Fram filter are you?

Yes running a FRAM PH15. I must have a plugged oil cooler (installed new stock cooler this spring) or a pressure relief valve?? This is not that complicated
When I say cool its PEE-WARM. (not very hot)

I would...
1. Ditch the Fram Filter in favor of K&N, Baldwin or Wix or derivitive and
2. Filter the hot oil as stated above.
I've seen "extensive" reports of collapsing problems with Fram Filters. Just my .02548
