Please be prayerful, some of you may already have heard and some will soon hear!! A very good friend of mine, her name Candace, who has been hangin with and seein my best friend for a couple of months now lost her father on late sunday afternoon!!
Her and the family were on thier last Glamis trip for the season, when he unfortunately went for a last run in his long travel buggy, not wearing his seatbelt, was launched and died almost instantly! Some of you may have seen him in glamis, he owned several wiener shnitzels, and his coach, buggy everything they owened has hot dog paint jobs adn emblems on! i met him once at nascar last month and he was a great guy! no alcohol was invloved, just a bad decision on not wearing a seatlbelt! He leaves a 17 year old son, 19 year old daughter a wife in her early forties and i believe he was only 42!
thanx for your thoughts and prayers....Leon

Although I didn't see Chris this trip out I have seen his buggy many many times in the past. Very sad news :frown: My condolences to his family.

Leon, I am shocked and very saddened to read this. I met Chris and his family earlier in the Glamis season at the Extreme Performance (sand car builder) regatta. He helped make that a truly great event even though his car was not running well. I saw him a few times since (always at glamis) and his enthusiasm (sp) was contagious! I am truly bummed out... Please pass the condolences of the Willoughby family to his.

Wow, this is very sad. I believe they are my friends neighbor. I met his kid when I was working on my friends Banshee. He was driving a 68-69 Impala he was selling and had come over to say hello. My friend said they were great people. I'm sorry about your loss. I will be praying for the family....

I live down the street from Chris. I moved in last year, and he immeadietly welcomed me into the neighborhodd, especially when he saw I had a rail and we boated in Havasu. People knew him in the neighborhood as "Chili Dog." Often he would stop by and talk about the things we on this forum love, boating and duning. Chris will be missed in the neighborhood by all, as he was a great guy. MY thoughts and prayers go out to his family, god bless.

I heard the trailer and or motor home got stuck so he pulled it out to lighten the load. Like you said, it was a fluke accident that could happen to anyone. That buggy had a lot of power. Small world, I have a friend that is one of his nieces.
God bless the family

We were camping at wash 6 when this happened. My kids were riding their bikes right around our camp & noticed that the sand rail was going kind of fast by them. Apparently it hit a track & flipped. The kids ran over there & then came & got my husband. Shocked to hear that he wasn't wearing a safety belt or helmet. RIP
