Getting a new engine approx 850 HP for 28 Daytona, which drive should I get?
Would a gimbal be included?
What would be the Cost?
Anybody selling ?

as oldrat said...max machine worx has the answer...call jason and aaron 928.505.7860
in a 28 with 850 hp you WILL break everything else...
imco sc=junk...tcm=junk..bmax=junk
can you break a max drive? probably, but the difference is in the service you will get IF something goes wrong...not true with any of the other "drive builders"..

Yep, that shop believes in continuous improvement. They spend the time looking for reasons why things break and make upgrades while the other guys are spending their time arguing with the customer about whos fault it was!
In my estimation, I would not want a #6 hanging off the back of a 28' boat ...lots of reasons; hp loss from tranny and those big-a s s gears, etc., limited trim-up height, prop $$, and lastly, handling changes from the centerline/weight shift.

Calling them like I see 'em :D
Actually, MMW has better testing facilities than Lake X; he has all his customers running this piss out of their stuff and reporting back with any problems. Even if they are out some dinero on warranty claims, it still is cheaper than running a full out R & D program on their dime!
Nobody works an outdrive over like a bunch of weekend warriors. There are some folks out there that can f u c k u p a locomotive with a rubber mallet, so tearing up an outdrive ain't nuttin.
Have a safe and fun holiday weekend.

Although I don't abuse my MMW drive, I do an occasional dead stop WFO run and have had no problems yet with 25 hrs. and 800+ torque. It's nice to hear they treat you right if a problem does develop. Only pisser for me is they're 1300 miles away. I wouldn't trust anyone locally to fix it.

I think Rock-it-man still has his Imco 4x4 drive for sale that should hold up fine at that power level too.

Theres an articule in this months Hot Boat mag or was it Powerboat anyway its about the IMCO 4x4 and yes I still have it for sale ,theres pics of it in the Cats & Tunnels threads ROCKIT MANS UPGRADE and more info on it.Worked perfict at 1000 hp but don't take it beyond or you will be looking at a #6 or the Weisman.
Make me a deal or even a trade ??? I went to the Weisman(surface drive) which i'm told is unbreakable which I will know real soon .
