No hurry on these, but if any of you know where some are, or have some, just let me know. I am seriously going to convert from the FE to a 460, the decision has been made and I cant wait. I am currently building a mild 390 to hold me over until I finish collecting the parts. If any of you have advice for the swap, that would be great also.
I would prefer to have V-Drive Ford 460 mounts, since I think jet boat motor mounts might be off. Also, if any of you have headers or any of Ford 460 parts, please let me know.
Thanks.

I'm a huge fan of the 460, here is a site that has the best 460 info you'll find anywhere (if you haven't found it already)...

What power level will you be targeting with this 460 build?

Why not just go for 650 with no drugs??
It won't be quite as cheap, but then you won't have to screw with the nitros. :hammer2:

Donald:
I have a complete 460 that came out of a 21' Sleekcraft jet boat, log headers, risers, etc. that I may let go if you or anyone else is interested. Would be willing to trade for a decent BBC 396 or 454 as well...

I will let you know, I would like to stay away from jet boat headers since they point up and if I was going to go with them I would pick up a set of used for the time being. I will look out for you if anyone else is looking...actually I might know someone...I will let you know.

By selling the engine separate from the hull it is kinda parting it out. What parts exactly are you looking for? The engine is assembled now, may just put it back in the Sleek and sell the whole package to a jetter...

i pulled out a ford 460 from a '78 southwind jet two moths ago, it has a four point "bell housing" rear mount and a front plate, originally the stringer width was about 30 inches or so, complete motor, carb to oil pan, front pully to "short bell housing" including exhaust logs and risers, e-mail sjcrooke@aol.com for price and details. I have reciepts for rebuild. this engine was removed from a texas boat that used to live at havasu, sounded great with 40 lbs oil pressure. good luck.
