Copperrat--- Cool hydro ya got there:cool:
What kind of HP is that motor putting out?
Sanger Rat--- Thanks, I'll hit you up for sure...I've got a fairly good idea where everything goes but it's good to have something to compare. It has a new floor. I'm toying with the idea of fixing the stress cracks and getting her painted since the brown is showing its age and the orange isn't original. here are a few more pics...

Hey fourspeednup - good looking hydro you got there. Are you redoing the floor in it? My motor is only putting out 300hp.

Didn't really want to tell anyone but mine ran 58.5 on the gps a week ago. stock 454, stock pump with a place diverter. Don't run the diverter all the way up the sponsons will come up out of the water. That will wake you up real quick. It dosn't like glass becuse its running to wet. My plans for this winter is a droop, shoe and ride plate. That will help get the back of the boat up out of the water. I'm also going to get the heads ported and bigger valves, comp cams 292 or 305. also got a nice Dart intake too. And then go from there. Fourspeed do you have a closeup of your bowl. Looks like is set back farther than mine. http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/1937pic007.jpg Oh ya and I got a small rudder than I cut down. It doesn't want to change lanes when you stab it now. Nice and straight. You see what I mean when you get it on the water.

Come on now. Is it that bad for a 1977 330hp motor? I've only had for three months. I got all winter when the snow is blowing to work on it. Summer is short here I just wanted to enjoy it not work on it.

With a little set up work you`ll be fine, I was just giving ya some shit... :D Those boats will run pretty good if you do your home work.

Hey sanger rat, wouldn't believe the difference that a droop made on my hydro. Once I got that the back of mine wouldn't stay in the water. So I had to try out different wedges. I could have just kept the wing on the back of it but I thought it was ghetto. That is alot cheaper than motor work. Lol!

sanger rat

Good to hear a Droop is going to help. What degree wedge did you end up with?

Jet Hydro
09-16-2004, 09:18 AM
You might want to try a straight snoot first. The Droop will cause lift on the sponsons. Been there done that. Your sangers are a little different than my hydro but they work close to the same. If your lifting the sponsons your losing forward thrust. Let the Air do the lifting not the Jet Drive. Your Hydros are really a tunnel hull so it`s easer to trap air than mine. I have a flat bottom with no tunnels.

Hey I got a line on a mid 80's Sanger pickel fork jet. I haven't seen it yet but it's said to be very clean hull. No motor beat interior, blueprinted jet. What do you think it might be worth?
