They are draining it down like they do every year. They don't start releasing until sept 1st. Plus they can't drain it all the way since it supplies the water to the town on the other side of the dam. Mid week there isn't to many people there. I saw 2 campers and 3 tents but no other boats.

Its Stony Gorge near Elk Creek which is about 20 minutes west of willows or 15 minutes west of thunderhill raceway. It is NOT the place to pick up chicks. If you see a good looking one she was brought in out of county or married!!!

That place gets packed on weekends and major holidays. I have gone up there on a 3 day weekend and turned around and left. More and more are coming up from Sac and so on.
