Tony has aquired one of the fastest K boats to ever take the water. One of the K-14 Hobbits out of Chuck Boyds stable.
If anyone is headed out to Needles and hasn't left yet, Tony would appreciate someone picking up his driveshaft in victorville and taking it to Needles where he and his new boat are. Call me if you can help (909) 741-1346

Was it Boyd's Primary or Secondary boat? I heard he sold one of them a while back and had one left. Just trying to figure out which one Tony got. Was it the 540 motor or the 526 motor? Either way, Tony got a SWEEEET boat!! Congrats Tony!!!

The 2nd boat as its referred to was laid up first. It was preferred by Lance and Gordy. It is the same boat in the picture at the top of K-flats post. You can see Gordy was wearing his "Freedom" jacket at the time of the pic. Chuck liked the boat so much that he had another one built (no. 1). George Stratton was involved in the building of these boats.
Tony got the Phil Stock Motor with the boat he purchased.
The other boat, or No.1 boat in the ad, is still for sale with the 1600 horse Paul Pfaff 540. This boat has T-bags name all over it! :smile: :devil:

Gotchya. Now I understand...Thanks. I knew that they were virtually the same boat, but didn't know the background info on them. Those boats are just Swwweeeeetttt!!! I've been eyeing them for quite a while now dreaming of the old "What if's". Glad to see Tony get one.

Sounds like there's been alot of interest in the K-Boats lately and looks like they're coming back huh? Any chance on a resurrection of the class outside of APBA? Whatever happened to that IHBA/K-Boat thing?

We will find out this weekend (IHBA) by who shows up in San Diego.
There's no lack of interest and never was. :idea: Just a lack of enough monetary motivation. :cry: Jr. is still chipping away at this, so cross your fingers and stay tuned.
APBA rules will not happen on the west coast. It will be by other means or not at all.

Alls i can say is that it is bad ass. I helped Tony and John Hart put it togather this weekend in havasu and Gordy even stopped by to help. It was way cool.

Tony likes to sit up high in the open drag boats for that pedal leverage and feel. I think that might be a bad idea in this roundy pounder......may have to make that water deflector out of plexiglass so that he can look through it :supp: :supp:

It doesn't look like there is much boat in the water in that last shot. I hope he runs it in NJBA for a 1/4 mile time. It would be cool to have a mid-seven second CIRCLE boat!!

Spent the day with the boys at Needles on wed. Tony made some passes then brought it in and we made some adjustments on the plate. He then took it back out and you could see a noticable difference in how the boat reacted coming out of the corners. That boat really gets with it. He will do well once he get a little more seat time.
