The Smokey race is not likely to be held any time soon is what I have heard. The only one in Canada is Whitecourt and Hay River. Last time I asked Robbie Chrunyk, the dates haven't been set yet for either. Hay river is very dependant on water levels. Whitecourt should still be on Canada Day weekend. The Salmon river race (when they have it) hasn't had much interest from the Canada boys since it's is so early in the season and nobody has has any testing time. They are also very dependant on water levels.

Canuck, Did you ever get a new boat? I'm just itching to get out and go for a rip. A few of the boys were out on the weekend on the Red Deer River, but lots of ice still. They managed to get to the Penhold Bridge. I'm out of here in 7 days and it should be ready for a good rip.

JB, That rig you got is awesome! Just saw the pics on the other thread. I'd like to see those run! How close does that type of racing get to so. cal.?

Roz, You guys are more lucky than you know. The season is rather short for us compared to you southern guys. The trade off is, we still run river in the winter but it's on sleds and that is almost as fun. And a hell of alot cheaper. Never a warm beer when sledding. We have trouble keeping them from freezing!!

Only your conscience. Careful with the fatty. You don't need a burn before get them in the boat. Good luck.
