Anyone tried or heard anything about the new billet Alternator that MSD is making? It looks bitchen, but would like to know more about it. Can't seem to find anything on it.

Check the link below the picture entitled "MSD pro billet alternator". It's an article from the SEMA show and tells you all the specifics.

Hell, even with the hatch up I don't think you'll be able to see it very well, but, I still want one :D

can you post a pic of yours? I don't have much space so I'm looking for smaller options.

I RUN THIS GUY IN THE FLAT...WORKS LIKE A CHAMP. I HAVE ELECTRICAL EVERYTHING.....TWO COMP 500 FUEL PUMPS, IN LINE WATER PUMP, MSD 7ML-2 IGNITION , PRO POWER COIL.... I MACHINED AND LIGHTENED A LARGER PULLEY FOR IT SO THE THING WOULDNT BE BUZZING BIG RPM..
EAST COAST AUTO ELECTRIC ITS A ONE WIRE "MINI"...8LBS AND PUMPS OUT 38 AMPS.

Sd,Its a nice alt. Very high quality, but its just under 3 bills after tax...about $275 actually.
Ive got mine set up with a cog belt drive, Ive got this madrel coming off the crank and you can just add pulleys to it,which is neat if you have more than one thing to drive off the front.

It looks like this one, has 30 amps at 2500 rpms and way more at 6000, under 7 lbs, internal fan. My alt is spinning 9000 @ 6000 on the motor, no problems so far.
Ill take a pic of my drive set up tomorrow, its a clean set up, and its not that expensive.

The MSD Pro Billet Alternator is available in a 105, 140 and 160 amp output. They have one-wire and direct plug in models. They are finally shipping the 105 and 160 models. The mounting kits are sold seperately depending on what application you are connecting it to. They offer Chevy, Ford and Chrysler Kits and some cool looking pulley's. The alternator is no bigger than a conventional GM/Delco Alternator like you see on most late model GM Cars and Trucks. It is based on the CS121 Delco Alternator. They run about the same as most aftermarket alternators on the market.
