View Full Version : Why Coors light?

Since I took a beating in the Grey Goose thread, let's talk beer.
Why do people drink Coors Light? Just because it's a diet beer? It tastes awful.
What kind of beer do you like to drink at the river?

this is an interesting question you pose....
it does seem as though the most popular beer at the river is Coors light...
However in my boat you'll find our favorite is COLD and doesn't really matter what. so long as its cold

Man, I love coors light. I find some domestic beers a little offensive. The silver Bullet is far from that. Cold is good though. If its warm, I aint drinkin it.

Light beer is for boys and heathens! Real men drink the hard stuff!

so every body can say they drank a 12 pack when in reality it is more like drinking 5 beers(if that). :D because of its weakness.I prefer sierra nevadas, dark ales,or guiness.

You're a madman! The dark ales and guiness is a little too thick when it's 110+ out :D
I like the CL because it's refreshing, plus it leaves more room for food

I only drink beer at the river (i prefer vodka...but a cold beer is great when it's over 100 degrees)....but i never drink light beer, of any brand....unless that's all there is.
It has half the alcohol...(about 2%) so you have to drink twice as much, for the same buzz....so what's the use? It's just watered down beer!
As for Coors Light....it's the biggest selling beer in Southern California....i don't get it. Regular Coors...at a bar...(not the 3.2 stuff you get at some "beer bars" and 7-11s)...is really good beer...and gives you a great buzz (isn't that why we drink the stuff??).

I was told it takes Silver Bullets to slay the dragon, so I just don't want to be caught short. You alwasys think its a myth until the pull that sucker out of the water. Anybody see Bob the 50 year old Alligator Snapping Turtle that topped the scales at over 100lbs that was just pulled from Lake Laguna here in OC. What a monster, been rumors for years, now proof.

You drink CL because you still have to function and drive back to the dock. CL 18 packs are the #1selling beer in the east Co. Go figure.

I love all beer - give me a tap anything, preferably any local micro's. And I agree; Guiness is way too heavy at the river.
CL's are great - they taste good when it's hot out, and even the wifey likes them (but otherwise can't stand beer).
I started as a Coors man - but you can't find the stuff fresh. Even more amazing - you can't find the stuff fresh in NORCO!!!! I think in the 70's it was written into the deeds that if you lived in Norco - you were required to drink Coors. Now it's like you have to dust the cob webs off - and if CL or Coors gets within 60 days of the expiration date - yuk.
And last I knew of, original Coors was still 5.0.

In Cans.......Tecate, with a lime wedge.
Miller Light is ok, specially with a lime. It tastes like.....vacation.
Corona in cans tastes metallic.
Coors is unpalatable to me. :yuk:
Bottles.....Karl Strauss, St Pauli Girl, Grolsch, Becks.....
Mike's Hard Limeades are tasty. Don't much care for the lemonades though.

Never start though until I'm on dry land. Start with a few Buds then switch to Crown and Coke

It actually took me a while to develop a taste for beer. Once I did, Buds are absolutely delicious. The lights just seem a little weak to me.

I used to only drink Coors Light. Now I like Bud Light. But I mostly drink Tecates at the river or mixed drinks. At home I drink imports. Love Heinekin and Sierra Nevada, Asahi, Newcastle, Corona's, and lots of others.
