It's less than a week away, where all all of the threads? I guess it'll be a smaller crowd this time. Probably a good thing.
We will be showing up sometime Thursday evening. We'll be in the restaurant at Katherine's Friday morning for breakfast if anyone is there, please look for us. We'll be with one other couple -- 30ish, no blondes. Losers lounge is a problem waiting to happen if you take your women in there. Too many drunk idiots that cross the line. This is a place you go to with your buds in my opinion...not your better half.
Tarzans is a step above the losers lounge. If you have a woman take them here. They can dance, get drunk and you have a better chance of being able to enjoy your night without some asshole forkin' up...

I like to go to Mad Dogs in BHC for a cheese burger and the coldest tap beer around. Try the casinos for a room or maybe even Katherines Landing. Night clubs are Losers Lounge and 1 other one in the Riverside and Tarzans at the Nugget.
They do have a bar right down at the restaruant where you launch. Mostly locals after the sun goes down. Some are scary but mostly nice and very talkative.

Riverside has Loser's Lounge. Golden Nugget has Tarzans. I'd say those are the two happenin spots on the strip. Some of the other casinos have some cool bars. These two probably get the most people going. Everything so close together down there. 5 min. cab ride or walk. I would say every casino has a decent restaurant in it. I like the new mexican spot across from the Riverside at their new casino. Good grub there. Same owners as the one in Havasu I believe.

pretty much what tom said!!!! but we were at loosers two weeks ago,,30 min of band then 15 mn of dj we like th dj to dance also!! Tarzans sat was all d/j and a little nice atmosphere!! one fight fri at loosers, none at tarzans!!! :D

I would not take a 30' V on the river unless you plan on dropping at Needles or South of there and heading to Havasu. Asking for trouble if you drop North of the Needles bridge.....
On the lake at Katherines of course it is a non-issue

I'm usually only in Laughlin during the holiday weekends. Do they do the cover and wristband thing on regular weekends?? If so, it's cool we just go get ours early and never have to wait in line.

I hear ya. My wife and I can have a good time by ourselves. I always try to put us where the action is though. I like watching people and their antics. That's why I like Loser's Lounge so much. :D It's a party weekend for you birthday boy. That's the way to do it.

There have been 25 rooms rented under the group rate at the Nugget alone. There are AT LEAST a dozen or more people staying at other hotels (I think the actual number is much higher). Plus the folks who have places in BHC, Fort Mohave, & Needles. There are also some folks towing up for the day from Havasu.
We don't care about bragging rights and big turn outs, we care about quality people and no drama. This should be a good workable size group, and I think you'll be able to mingle and meet a lot of new people, since many are coming for the first time. But if anyone thinks they'd have more fun doing something else, somewhere else, that's all cool too!!! We're not pushing anyone to go, we're not over-hyping, we're not doing an arrival list (so people will feel more free to just show up), we're not doing any judging or contests (so people won't be turned off to the party because they feel they don't have a nice enough boat or big enough stereo), no t-shirts, no sponcers, no prizes, and we picked a new location from all previous OPs in hopes of getting some fresh blood out to say hello.
OP6 in the fall is little more than a date and place for people to get together and put names with faces. I believe it will be a really nice day on the water, a great weekend, but that's just me, and I could be wrong.

You are 100% correct! The first OP6 was specifically held to get people from the Hot Boat forum together to talk about how we can make boaters more RA (River Aware). The path has been long and winedy, but even at the last OP, the hosts stayed after all had gone and made sure the entire area was cleaner than when we got there. Even boating down stream and picking up any jello shot cups found in the water.

CornFest to rock with sounds of 1960s-'70s

FORT MOJAVE -- With a party theme of the '60s and '70s, CornFest wouldn't be complete without the music of CC&R, Bob Segar and The Eagles.
To commemorate the music of the era, three acts will bring some old fashioned rock and roll to the stage at the CornFest: Bad Moon Rising is a Credence Clearwater Revival tribute band; Heart Ache Tonight performs songs of The Eagles and Like a Rock features the hits of Bob Segar.
"If you are just in the mood for some good old rock 'n' roll, Ramada Express stage is the place to be," said CornFest Chairman Dave Patterson.
Something that makes two of the acts unique is that the members of the bands are interchangeable. Bad Moon Rising and Heart Ache Tonight have the same band members, and just change out singers and costumes for each of the different acts, Patterson said.
"During past CornFests, one of the difficulties has been changing out the sound systems when a new band comes on and trying to get all of the sound checks in," Patterson said.
"So this should not only provide great entertainment but will make it a lot easier on the guys in yellow. You won't have to sit around and wait for the bands to tune up."
Also scheduled on the Ramada Express stage is Jeff Fox and Mirror Images. Fox is a local talent and his group, which will open both afternoons, performs top 40 hits.
Two acts from Country U.S.A. will also perform Friday.
The CornFest, to be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24 and 25, will have three stages of entertainment going. In addition to the "oldies" stage, the Mohave Electric stage will feature local youth talent, Hypnosis by Gianni and Master Magicians Gianni and Chazz. The third stage, the Avi Extreme stage will present alternative bands including the Voodoo Glow Skulls, Crash Cadillacs, Hoss and The Asphalt.
The Avi Extreme stage will be in the area where a professional BMX extreme sports exhibition will take place.
There is no entrance charge for the CornFest, which will be located just south of Aztec Road on Fort Mohave

There have been 25 rooms rented under the group rate at the Nugget alone. There are AT LEAST a dozen or more people staying at other hotels (I think the actual number is much higher). Plus the folks who have places in BHC, Fort Mohave, & Needles. There are also some folks towing up for the day from Havasu.
We don't care about bragging rights and big turn outs, we care about quality people and no drama. This should be a good workable size group, and I think you'll be able to mingle and meet a lot of new people, since many are coming for the first time. But if anyone thinks they'd have more fun doing something else, somewhere else, that's all cool too!!! We're not pushing anyone to go, we're not over-hyping, we're not doing an arrival list (so people will feel more free to just show up), we're not doing any judging or contests (so people won't be turned off to the party because they feel they don't have a nice enough boat or big enough stereo), no t-shirts, no sponcers, no prizes, and we picked a new location from all previous OPs in hopes of getting some fresh blood out to say hello.
OP6 in the fall is little more than a date and place for people to get together and put names with faces. I believe it will be a really nice day on the water, a great weekend, but that's just me, and I could be wrong.
Sounds great RTJ. Like-minded people gettin together. Should be a good ass time. Thank goodness for the no contest thing. I sure hope no one clowns me for my 82 Bayliner and boombox. :D Just kidding. With that many peeps going, I think we just have some lurkers. Everyone is so shy in here. :D Can't wait, I'm pumped, leaving tomorrow.

The way it started and the way it should be IMHO.....Its about meeting new people and having fun. Nothing more complicated than that.....The MTV / GGW parties occur every weekend at the river anyway. :D
