Who cares what the size of the motor is. More importantly, what size ice chests? :D

It runs between 45 to 50MPH depending on load. Soon we will GPS it and the real spead. The engine will run at 6000rpm with ss mirage 17 pitch prop.

At the boat show in January this year they had a 28' Playcraft (I think) that would run 93 mph on the gps. It had a set of 300 Mercs hanging on the back!
Old man said he took great pleasure in blowing the anchors off of the more traditional go fast boats! :D

I looked at the Playcraft real close but decided on the Bennington becuase of the interior, and layouts. The bottoms on both boats are put together solid.

Nice pontoon boat. Congrats.
Last weekend in Havasu, Playcraft Boats was having a regatta. Somebody had a 32' Playcraft pontoon with twin big blocks in it. Talk about a floating party barge. It was huge. I saw it running out on the lake and it freakin hauled ass.

The playcraft and Bennington run from 40K to 50K depending on engine and outdrive. I opted for the Honda 225 for power. Bennington and Playcraft both have the same engine packages with the exception of the 496 option on the playcraft. When they put the 496 in the playcraft the warranty drops off big time.
