With the recent problems with the noise Gestapo at Havasu I am concerned about being banished to my trailer for the weekend. I am very sure I am significantly over the limit. Do we know if the regatta participants will be getting a “pass” from these over zealous jerks for this weekend? I for one don’t want to drive 700 miles round trip to be told I can’t launch because I can’t make the noise cut. If you folks have any suggestions on how I can quite mine down short of a new exhaust system please let me know. I am running a blown 468 with Emco exhaust headers and through the transom pipes. Thanks in advance for any info or assistance. BILL

From what I hear they aren't testing at Site Six... so that might be the way to go. The police don't seem to have a problem, its the Nazis running the Marina. Site Six on the island it pretty steep and not as nice as the Marina, but its free and they won't hassle you at all... plus there shouldn't be a line on a non-holiday weekend.

I don't get it...why on earth does the marina and it's personnel care how much noise a boat makes???? Do they get brownie points for busting boat owners on rules and regs?? And from who?
Man, if a marina got into that act around here, they'd be so out-of-bizness so fast. Yours must be contract deals with the feds or something with caveats and requirements to do that- ours are privately owned around here. We've got free ramps all over the lake, too.
The closest I have ever been to being subjected to regulations at a ramp was 2 weeks ago when I took the Rayson down to the ramp to back it into the water and check the thru-hull components for potential leakage. While getting ready to go, an old guy came up with clipboard in hand and a USCG Auxilliary uniform on- wanted to offer a free compliance/safety inspection. Since I didn't have the reg numbers on it yet, I didn't pass.... But it didn't leak!
