View Full Version : Who is your mechanic of choice in LHC?

I have used a few of the mechanics in LHC and become fairly bias to Chris at JC Marine and Clu at Magic but neither of them have time in their schedules to trouble shoot an ignition problem in my boat. I need someone very honest and experienced in trouble shooting. Any suggestions?

If your boat has a prettty normal N/A motor in it, I have had good luck with Savage and still recomend them, having met Aaron from Absolute, I'd say you can't go wrong dealing with him under any circumstances, but I know for a fact that he's pretty swamped too. If you can't get into see either of these guys, I'd call Tom @ Pro Marine, he'd rather build engines but will do service work, and is a really honest straight forward guy.

Steve at Savage is very good at all of it, seems like he charges a fair price,
Aaron did in fact work for Steve at Savage for years, he's also very good and fair, as previously mentioned, Chris at JC Marine is also very good and fair
and then there's Alco Marine who does the majority of our boats.
I would recommend all of them.

Aaron (Absolute) is awesome...
When I used to take my boat to Steve(Savage),I used to make it a point to get the mood report from Kelly(his wife) before approaching Steve...
Lance Oster is VERY GOOD,and reasonable as well.
Just CURIOUS what ever happened to Jeff Blosdale jr.?,I know SR. passed away but I thought his son still had a shop.
Is Gary Kinkaid(Showtime Marine) still around... (PlayDeep)

what is the going labor rate in havasu?

I should have mentioned Gary Kincaid at Showtime Marine but ever since he
moved to Donkey Acres (south east corner of town but in the county) I
forget that he's around. As for building a killer blower motor, that's who I'd
go to in Havasu without question. He's been real busy in the off road motor
building business lately too but a great engine builder.
Then Lance Oster, who coincidentally used to work for Gary years ago, is
a very competent mechanic and a good guy also.
Then another real good engine builder but really isn't wanting to do too much
wrenching, is Scott Kukovich who owns Coyote Marine. He prefers building
new motors and then maintaining those boats that they go in. He also worked
for Gary about 10 years ago!
All 3 are very good people too.]
