I recently purchased a 1994 Caliber 1 206 Skier open bow, 502hp, Berkley w/Place Diverter. The boat has been sitting for a little over two years now. Since water accumulated in the boat over that time, the floor has rotted out. I would like any information on replacing the floor and performing this task myself, i.e., fastners, marine plywood (thicknes, grade), carpeting. I'd like to have this done before the boat goes in for a pump rebuild, new drive cables and freshening up the motor. Jet Performance Marine in Phoenix will be doing the motor and pump work. Thank you for your help.

Best way is to carefully cut the old flooring out using a circular saw set to the proper depth for the thickness, then go back in with West system epoxy and your choice of plywood, or even plastic board, carefully glued, screwed, and totally encased in epoxy or fiberglass.

there are two alternatives to plywood flooring.#1. King Starboard [bit expensive]#2.[my choice]Kelron.Get 3/4 inch of choice of colours and snap in carpet.More money than marine ply but impervious to rot and you don't have to muck with fiberglassing the woodfloor. My two cents worth. Attila

Thanks for the input everyone. I was told by a local distributer that I may have to replace the stringers also. Does anyone know where I could locate a book or video on how to do this?

I don't know of any video, but if your willing to take on a job like this then you must have some woodworking skills and some glass knowledge, so if you would like, come down to our factory and watch some hulls being built. Bring a camcorder and you can make your own "how to" video for yourself. My workers will answer any questions you have. Give me a call if you would like.

If anyone is interested, I did find a lot of information on books and manuals by searching keywords "Fiberglass Repair". I'll head to the local library and let you know what book will be best suited to replace flooring in a boat.
