hey guys i wanted to buy one of those fiberglass/plastic air scoops for a dual carb setup on a high rise manifold for my boat. any suggestions on where to find a good one for a reasonable price? i do not even know what one costs. should i stick with the polished aluminum scoop instead? just think they look pretty sweet. thanks just bought my first jet yesterday my minds going wild on what to add next haha.

Congrats on the new jet. As for a fiberglass scoop, there are many kind. Just remember you will need a scoop tray to mount the scoop to, and the tray will need to be mounted to the motor somehow.

you may not need a tray depending on what style you choose.

Don't get one of those little sissy scoops. Get a great big one!
Then if you fall on hard times, you can move into it. It'll double
as a small apartment.
P.S. I've always liked the looks of that boat too. Very nice ride.

It shows bigger than it really is. Only 550 sq ft but it includes community pool, tennis court, weight room and racquet ball courts. Best of all.........it's move in ready.

Luckily it came with the ride. Old Hondo-type scoop. Glassed in two carb adapters and it fits like a glove with the flame arrestors clamping it down,

You might want to be careful with these guys. I liked em because they made some different models/designs than everyone else. I started doing some research on the company and found out a number of people had bad experiences in their dealings with em. Quality control issues, bad customer service reps, etc. I ended up going with Harwood just because the overall perception of the company was good and their quality was consistent. Not necessarily because I liked their scoop designs.
Keep in mind...........no matter what fiberglass scoop you buy, it won't be paint ready. It'll need some body work/filler/primer/sanding etc. Before you can lay a nice finish on it.

I've bought a total of 4 pieces from Unlimited before in the past. They were a hood, trunklid and 2 bumpers (front & rr). They were packaged very well for the 2200 miles of shipping, everything arrived fine, and the worst thing that I can say about their quality/build is that the hood has an unfinished edge (about 3-4 inches long) on the front and the bumpers have no flange to mount the turn signals (but their probably meant for race only anyways).
I would certainly buy from them again, but there is better out there.
I did also want to mention, the really cool old-style 60's "Breadloaf" style fiberglass scoops show up on Ebay all the time.

That reminds me of the ships they had on Battlestar Gallatica.
